out tonight on one of my permissions local to me looking for a buck that i'd seen a few weeks ago. i got settled on a bank looking down into a pasture that borders the strip of woodland he frequents, with the wind in my favour i thought i had chosen the right spot as i'd seen him using the bottom end of the field nearest to me.......wrong. after about 20 minutes i saw two deer leave the other end of the wood and on glassing them saw one was the buck i was after with a doe in attendance. i hoped they would feed down my way and as i kept an eye on them i noticed he was now clean but his head was

good luck young man. good to see a young person keen as mustard on the job he wants. atb. alan. -
firstly i'm no pro and others opinion may be different, but the way you plan your cull can have have various effects dependant on what you want to achieve. if you want to limit tree re-stock damage then that big buck can be you best friend as he will defend the territory from all incomers and will do minimal damage, if this is your aim, cull the young beast and leave the big boy to it, but you may not shoot many transient bucks as he will see them all off until beaten. the other option ( again dependant if tree damage is a factor ) is that if you take the big buck this will leave a vacant terr

GOVERNMENT PETITION AGAINST MANITORY TESTING
brno17 replied to Night Hunter's topic in Deer Stalking & Management
this will be steam rollered in no matter what just think of the money it'll generate for holyrood :wankerzo4: my advice is get at least level 1 now through the ila scotland grant scheme because the bill will be passed no matter what we say. atb alan. -
The nosie reduction is major as long as you use subsonic cartridges. I have a 12 bore baikal hushpower, can't say I use it much as it is a single barrel which is the size of a scaffold pole lol! Always good to show your mates though. i had one the same mate, it was like swinging a drainpipe

what are you talkin about ???? as far as ive always known mark you have always shared the ground with gav that was the deal, the farmer phoned him and asked him to have a look anyway, and we went and seen him as we were going out, ive no need to explain myself anyway mate gav has written permission......end of !!!! but im not turning this into a slagging match on an open, monitored forum like other posts go sometimes, i think you need to wind your neck in a bit theres plenty foxes up here for everybody but if you want to speak calmly about it you know my number.............

Where do you get that plutonium enriched ammo from, I need some of that...that whole wound cavity is positively glowing.... only available north of the border mate

went out on a mates permission for look tonight thats half deer farm and half sheep so with lambing around the corner it was time to thin out charlie. we parked the landy up and headed out onto a hill that overlooks a steep gully and set up for a call. the wind was perfect for this area so i started with a few hand calls and within seconds a fox came running through the hedge at the far end and coming in fast, i tracked it through the scope and stopped it face on with a shout at about 80yds and centred the crosshairs on her chest, the 223 spat and it was lights out.......

all most positive they're made by hornaday.if Im right anywhere realy yeah mate youre right hornady make them, the spsx stands for softpoint super explosive theyre basically a softpoint varmint bullet that expand rapidly on impact. i was once mistakenly sold 55 grain 223's as ordinary softpoints to be used for roe by my local dealer, carcus damage was terrible so stopped using them on deer but they were mustard on charlie, about the same result as vmax. atb alan.

good do mate is that lee back behind the rifle again ? atb alan.

hi all, had a good mate out looking for a roe doe last saturday to return a favour, he's an experienced stalker so i never took my rifle. on arriving at my permission we checked some of the likely holding spots with not a beast seen so back to the landy and out to the other side of the ground marching a forest block, we glassed a deer feeding among a small stand of broadleaves so it was game on. we slowly stalked our way up the side of the forest until we were unsighted to the doe and covered the dead ground quickly until we were into the small gully that held the doe. we inched up over the
