    have you tried shooting a group without the mod ? this will eliminate the mod as being the problem if it still doesnt group. as said above check the barrel is floating by pulling a sheet of paper down between the barrel and stock, it should slide all the way down to the action without gripping try this with the bipod down also ( if you use one ) give this a try mate if there is still no improvement you could get the crown checked for damage and if so get the barrel recrowned at a good gunsmith.i would doubt the barrel is shot out as even the worst should still hold under 5" at 50yds and the 6.

    max point blank range is more or less a zero where you will still hit say a fox sized target out to a maximum range e.g. if your zero is 1inch high at 100yds you can aim bang on out to maybe 250yds or any range under this and still hit. it was once explained to me as firing down an imaginary 4 inch diameter pipe out to your max range the bullet will never hit top or bottom. hope this makes sense. atb alan.

    never used a pigeon call mate and dont know anyone that has. i'd try some full body decoys lofted in the trees of a roosting wood and get in position below them.

    are there any birds feeding on or flighting over the fields mate ? if not youre wasting your time. theyve got to be there to shoot them. as said above watch ALL the fields on your permission for feeding birds, you can seldom turn up at a field you fancy and shoot a decent bag.

    Hi all, just thought I would stick a post on about Christmas comp rifle that I won back in december on www.shootforum.com. I chose a 223 howa 1500 varmint and by feck it’s a shooter, certainly the most accurate rifle in my cabinet and as for the wildcat mod it’s the mutts nuts too very very quiet and more importantly you can strip it to clean the crap out of it. Anyway I shot the barrel in with the usual clean 1 shoot 1 for 5 rounds then shoot 3 clean etc. then went for a zero. Even with cheap american eagle ammo that I bought for shooting in I couldn’t believe the way this thing was gro

    look forward to seing that new rifle of yours in action, the pressure will be on you this time have you been lamping much yourself lately havent got out as much as i would have liked to with work and the weather :sick: but doing ok. been stalking at weekends but finding the does hard to come by.
