hunting ban what a waste of police time
barry lurcher replied to barry lurcher's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Dogs on a hunt FIGURES showing that three Welsh police forces did not even issue a caution against any member of a registered hunt in the first five years of the hunting ban prove it is not working and should be repealed, the Countryside Alliance is claiming. Ministry of Justice figures obtained by the pro-hunting group show that forces in South Wales, Dyfed Powys and Gwent have not cautioned, fined or convicted any individual since the act came into force into 2005. According to the group’s report, published today, North Wales Police have cautioned one person, proceeded against two and -
the hunting ban serves no purpose what so ever ,its so complex and utterley miss directed , the police as a whole admit this , tony blair f*****g admits this , most polititions admit this ,i say to them all grow a set of bollocks and get this crap over turned. this artical was from the south wales echo totally independent without bias. If im using purse nets I expect the nets to purse to catch the rabbits, longnets tangle the rabbits up to hold them and I've yet to see a rabbit snared in a net no matter what size or weight. I do agree any net less than 3'6" is nt worth bothering with and make my own 4'6"long by 18meshes wide was always told "you can put a big net on a little hole but you cant put a little net on a big hole" Y.I.S Leeview think thats spot on about big net on little hole very good advice there good reply mate

well everyones got different opinions on this but i gotta say i prefer the heavyer nets myself , more easy to lay , and a hell of a lot better on snaggy ground ! if you ferret clean ground grass fields and banks then the lighter stuff comes into its own, i ferret mostly snaggy ground and its mostly poaching so i need to lay them fast ! gotta agree with ideations comment on another topic that the lighter nets most defo snare and tangle the rabbits more ! i just havent got the paticence to lay them all the time , but they do have there place and i do carry a few, wats other peoples ideas on n

casting machines zippy are , but you havent said wat ground you are fishing over, or mostly clean or rough, again for mixed ground , rough , sand i have no dout if you tried all these rods out you would choose the lt14 dymic ,it holds its own over all these grounds in my humble opinion , that said if you only fish clean ground then yes the primo is the rod , on out and out rough ground u can still use the lt14 dymic but there are much better rods for this type of ground , century sport tip tornado, greys rods nitra,{ i use these rods for rough ground } i am sure there are a lot more out the

Ferret blood donors possibly needed

Maybe that would have been the kindest thing.. I'm not a cruel, hard hearted b*****d but is it really worth inflicting so much medical treatment on a small animal like a ferret every time it nicks it self? I'm all for using medicine where it's not too invasive and a condition doesn't effect it's living standards, but maybe sometimes nature should be allowed to take it's course. I don't believe constant, human medical intervention to keep an animal alive is always in the animals best interests but sometimes in the interests of the human owners emotional attachment. ..not only that, bu -
its always the case this time of the year and the warm spell they are bloody everywhere even on mine and they been front lined picked about 30 from my 5 ferrets i hate them

Favourite rabbiting dog / one for the pot dogs
barry lurcher replied to wuyang's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
beddie whippet grey was the best ferreting dog ive had so far ,cracking nose, game as feck , hated dogs unless they were out working with him ,in fact he didnt like people that much! , great on rats lots of rats but squirrels turned him into a frensy {was air gunning then ] broke his back leg bad but came back just as strong [this was about 25 years ago ] but he did tear himself often dont think barbed wire fencing was his thing . i miss that old dog very much -

well its been said [bANNED TEXT] say it again u cannot handle these things enough bring them in let em have a run about , i am a firm believer in hand feeding em when young for a few months time consuming yes, but it pays off!. even older ones get little chunks off me , they know the difference between the hand and meat !. of course if a ferret been harrased by say a f*****g cat all nite then u might get a nip from the little fellow when u pick him up but u cannot blame them in these circumstances. { please dont f*****g bring up those cat killing ferrets lads again !!!!!!!!!! [especially u

everytime she bites the mrs give the ferret extra bit of steak!!!!!!!!

it all depends where you ferret if you are just doing fields, then the lighter ones much cheaper as well, but if for general work banks , brambles ,woods , lots of snags about the heavy ones are the best 10oz -12oz ,and i have gone off the hemp nets because if your a lazy git like me and dont dry em every time they will rot ! get a few different lenghts , bigger entrances as well and of course coloured ones are much more easy to find ,i alway get to a burrow and think right count out the nets u use ,but i nearly always forget age me thinks!!!! thats where the coloured ones come into there ow
