    wtf?!

They make ferret berets. . . . enough f*****g said. Blame the septics.
  2. Dirty f*****g b*****ds. It's one thing being a smack rat, and another being the kind of smack rat who chucks their needles down where folk can come across them. Scum.
  3. i want 1 like that there Why, cos it's pretty?
  4. It really depends what your idea of ferreting is. . . . If we took a fat dog ferreting i doubt it'd still be walking come afternoon.
  5. That really gets on my tits mate. that, and folk saying 'she gives 110%' Well mine gives 176% so fook off.
  6. I don't know about the dogs, but after a full days 'proper' ferreting, i'm fooked, and well ready for a warm cuppa and a sit down. When you are a one or two man team, the dogs really have to pull their weight. Between the physical tasks of running and hunting and the afore mentioned mental concentration, it really take it out of them. 8/9 hours in the field, repeated over and over, is graft.
  7. I was out last night in the drizzle and wind and thinking we should have made it a 24 hr excursion, was plenty sat out and about. Next time!
  8. Thanks for the reply, I have had ferrets for 5 years, but this is the first time I have wanted to breed from them (my origonal 2 are neutered). When I started to read up on the subject I learnt that they can breed in their first season but I was just a little confused when Ideation said maybe nature is trying to tell me something! I think I confused myself when people mentioned 'the season' I was thinking of breeding and think you guys meant ferreting season (can you tell mine are pets rather than workers!! It wasn't until I read it out to my Dad (who hunts) that it was explained to me!
  9. Exactly, but then they KNOW it's a E.U polecat, cos the bloke they bought it off for 40 quid told them it was . . . . . And when they breed it, that's what they will call it. So i was just looking for someone who has actually bred wild poleys, rather than just using a name they payed for.
  10. I never said there was a problem, i was just looking for some kind of proof from someone that they had more than a dark ferret.
  11. Haha, i'm the hairy giant that managed to avoid any photos, that's johnnyboy68, and it's not the first time someone has mistaken him for a small boy. . . .
  12. Im 21, feel free to lend me the down payment for a house Should I start packing now ? I wouldnt own a dog if i lived at someone else's house, especially if that someone was the type to get involved with the rspca. strange that your name is bigthug87 you'd think that would mean you were born in 1987 making you more like 24 My cousin was born in 87, we made a clan to play xbox online years ago! Made it similar because we always went round in same group, just always used it as my username ever since! the juries out on you... just know
  13. "when i was younger, trying to get my tally up,i stuck my cock in places you wouldnae even put a stick."
  14. Yes mate, that was the one! Cracker that. Todd tried to imitate it, which was fairly amusing. . . . Aye Ray is a star, and fooking hell is he fit for his age!
  15. He was some local village idiot we bumped into. Your more than welcome next time mate hopefully in the season we'll get together again. We were talking about you mate, was it you that stuck up a photo of your bull x up a tree?
  16. It was a cracking day, with really top blokes. Johnny was his usual cheerful self, and Gem was working like a dream. It was great to meet Bird/Ray, a true gentleman and an extremely knowledgable bloke, it's a shame there are not more like him. Brilliant to finally meet Todd and Bryn. Bryn was, as said, even more impressive in the flesh, a cracking dog in every sense. Todd was far more agile and racy than i had imagined, good turn of speed, and clearing gates with ease. Also the most cheerful dog i have met in a while. He was a great advert for his kind when he met the many pet dogs along t
  17. Hey i'm not knocking, just looking for some kind of proof that the very dark ferrets we see are indeed true wild polecat blood, rather than just dark ferrets. As we also see 'black ferrets' claiming to have no wild blood that look the same. Just looking for someone to come on here and tell me about the actual wild poleys that they used to produce some workable animals, rather than the 'e.u polecat; kits they bought off some bloke, who got them from some bloke . . . . . We have wild poleys here, for the record.
  18. Had a really nice 8.5 hour walk today with Bird, Johnnyboy68 and Borntorun.

  19. My other big reason for the birds, is that rabbit has f**k all fat, and so if working hard, and only fed rabbit, i notice in winter, they begin to lose weight and condition after a while, and birds are packed with fat, so are good to bulk / build them up.
  20. Bloody hell mate it's ferrets, anybody would think you were on about your kids ! Taking it a lil too serious me thinks lol Alright sunshine, pray tell, why am "taking it too seriously", because i give them a good, healthy, mixed diet? Just for the record i do take my ferrets very seriously, i expect them to work nearly every day in the winter and so believe that they deserve the best treatment i can give them, or i shouldnt have them. Just like any stock, especially working animals. But out of interest, what's too serious???
  21. Aye like the One says, as much as they can pack in, few times a day. And mine been eating rabbit since before their eyes were open.
  22. You tell me buddy? It seems everyone has one now, so i want some kind of proof that they are indeed Polecats of wild ancestry. . . . rather than just dark ferrets. Aye, i'm going to get a lot of flak in a bit i'm sure.
  23. Thank you all for your help, As she came into season this spring and we wanted to have a litter from her, I just thought I had to breed from her that year because of the jill's not coming out of season I just presumed that she wouldn't come into season until she was old enough to breed! Could this be why she didn't catch with my hob and the more experienced ferret just sees her as a kit? I have separated them now and it looks like she is coming out of season, will be ok for her remain entire until next spring? I'd love to breed from her but I don't want to put her health at risk.
