  1. Folk who say, i'd rather catch seven hard rabbits then 100 easier ones etc, that's just bollocks. Any dog man would be buzzing like a fridge, seeing their dog lift over 100 rabbits. Its not just the running and catching, in terms of physical demands, but also just having the mental strength to go out again and again and again on rabbits, every minuite or so for hours, without the dog sickening. For this kind of thing to happen requires a number of factors coming together, obviously the land, and conditions and rabbit density plays a big part, but you cant deny that it takes a special kind of

  4. Oh christ, that's so sad, never knew the guy, but feel genuinly gutted. R.I.P Mate.
  5. The lad has a point. Just because your mates have permission there, doesnt mean other people don't.
  6. Its a body type, that is gained from breeding like to like, mostly albino and seemed to be what a ferret was before the pet trade and various other idiots got involved.
  7. Aye, same, think i know where, been there, but hope t'feck folk don't mention it on here, it will just get f****d, like the dales is getting.
  8. Exceptional scores! But up there must have rabbits everywhere and they must be fairly easy in comparisson to many places. But still, it's hard doing that many in a lot of ways and the dogs and men deserve credit.

Good enough for what we want here. But there has been very little natural food this year, bugger all acorns or beach mast either, which is good, as it keeps the birds close in. Last year there was fecking tons, so maybe its nature balancing it out.
  10. Aye, the yanks love our stuff. They put some kind of shit in it, think it stops it melting. Anyway, makes it taste a bit of vomit. Reeses penut butter things are ok malt, and i quite like babe ruth bars, but most of it is utter wank.
  11. You can't start a fire, you can't start a fire without a spark. This gun's for hire, even if we're just dancing in the dark. . .

  13. So . . . you are writing at 8.15pm, that you have been out lamping, been chased and are now home and have put the dog away, done whatever else and are now on here. If you have done all of that by 8.15pm . . . My suggestion is that you might have more luck lamping when it's dark?
  14. You can carry a locking knife over 3 inches if yu are legally hunting. I carry one pretty much everyday. And have showed it to the police a few times.
  15. So he used a different word to me.............think we are still on the same page???... No i meant implode. Because i thought the point was the lad wanted the rabbits there in order to hunt them? Even so, i know farmers who like a bit of shooting etc, who would be happy to see a decent enough rabbit population, mainly in sheep / cattle areas rather than arable.
  16. Former Lancashire NFU chairman David Graveston said that anything other than licensed controllers carrying out a clean kill was ‘unacceptable’. He said there were also strong concerns over illegal methods being used by hunters, who then sell on the rabbit meat which can be contaminated after being savaged by dogs. Mr Graveston said: “Farmers are allowed to kill rabbits on their own land or hire someone to do it for them, but they must be professionals and licensed gun holders. “On some estates there are also gamekeepers, but getting just anybody in to do it is a no-no.
  17. The worst thing - is the attitude and comments from the guy from the NFU! WHAT THE FECK??????
  18. Nice photos mate, and nice dog. But the working whippet show title always makes me chuckle. you wanting a punch in the jaw ? lol I just meant that how is the judge to know if the dogs are worked or not? I'd lean way more toward most of them not doing so
  19. Couple of things - Everyone shits themselves when someone mentions stocking a farm or some land with rabbits. Well, i hate to tell you, it happens all of the time, and not every where has a rabbit problem, and not every farmer wants them all gone. Hecne, there really are some farmers who really dont give two shits if you stuck a few rabbits down on their land. A few hundred acres of sheep or dairy farm isnt going to suddenly implode if you drop a few coneys. It's also no where near the most illegal or stupidest thing posted on here on a daily basis, so chill the feck out. Also, the

  21. My old girls are 7/8 years old now. Had the one working all day on Sunday. I'm going to really miss them when they have gone
  22. Maybe they don't 'hate' in the same way we do in an emotional sense but most canines do have an natural inbuilt intolerance for smaller canine species and will chase them away when encountered.. Good point Mal. Just after watching the dogs, it seems more like they are absolutly loving it, hyper and happy as feck, rather than angry. They seem to really relish tackling big stuff, more so than bunnys? And stuff that bites back, you see them track tree rats and its always with a certain fury.
  23. Pair of wax trousers, decent jacket, and i'm ready to leap straight in. To be honest, the worst part for me is that my long, flowing locks, get snagged all of the time and i either lose chunks of hair, or aquire various bits of bramble etc, stuck in it It's a right b*****d! Newkid - we get in there and net every hole we can, and usually we get them all, you can always stomp and kick, crawl and push your way in, if you try. The nets only need to slow the rabbit enough for the dog or us to scoop them up Although on occaison i have also stuck nets on really well used runs as an extra, but
  24. See i think they enjoy the rush and feeling of energy release from tackling them, but i wouldnt say its a hatred. I don't know, just a thought. My dog loves the smell, you can see when he hits the scent, he goes up a gear, same with deer.
