  4. Sorry to hear about your expense, here's my cheap tale. I actually hate going to the vets for any reason unless it's quite serious, your going to laugh now,i opted to see the vet because my terrier has had a niggling foot injury whereby he kept biting and licking his feet,i thought i can't be having this he's obviously in some discomfort here,on examination i worked out that his back toe nail was slightly longer than the others and at an angle compared to the others,so i decided to take him to the vets as i couldn't be bothered with a DIY job as i have started a new job and i have two other shi
  5. Anyone had experience of running a Limited Company,as this is what i would like to get into more for the tax advantages, sorry to hijack your thread Minion, but the answers may be useful to you too, Higgins.
  6. Nice patt Harrycatcat, what breeding is he and how old?Have you got a sit on lawnmower or do you travel round the garden on a quad?Nice photo pal, good hunting, Higgins.
  7. did you sleep with them boots on for 9 months? You need to be careful here Ditch, have you seen the film 'they died with their boots on'(i think it was called that,it could've been called 'they died with their Docs on),seriously Ditch start taking them off before bedtime, never mind the smell....
  8. looks like you both thought it through long and hard enough, and the fact that your not giving your jobs up just shows you are both sensible about it,as regards your different skills all that means is one is good at one side of the business while the other can deal with the other side of it,you don't have nothing to lose by giving it ago, after all you'll still have your jobs(don't give that up yet!),good luck in your venture and i'm sure you'll make a success of it, Higgins.
  9. OK,what i want to know is have the RSPCA 'EVER' been involved with any religous slaughtering in recent times, being so righteous and all that, have they ever got involved in any of these cases involving muslims or jews?I'm sure they would have plenty of opportunities to catch them at it,but would the RSPCA turn a blind eye in the guise of respecting religious preferences, or would they still see the offence first and prosecute regardless of religion? Higgins.
  10. Quote from Porridge....'what with these feet...',Ditch did you wash them before you took the pic, there's a smell and whether it's my imagination,or visually prompted i don't know,by the way are you selling your Doc Marten's......? Higgins. PS got it now, when you said stereo that was the smell wasn't it,of course how could i ever think it was my imagination or dare i say it even visually prompted,Ditch shitter can you get stereo images of pussies.......
  11. we can expect more of this type of behaviour from these'welfare people' since recently they have now access to more powers especially in the 'husbandry ' side of animal ownership, you can now get in trouble for not providing enough drinking water and also for 'not allowing the animals expression' to be displayed,i wonder if they would like most terriers' expressions to be displayed, looks like another case of f****D up legislation,on another note i read in my local paper that someone had a pitbull type dog taken away from them, well to cut a long story short, after all the legal wranglings that
  12. yes i would say go for it too,you have nothing to lose if your services are needed, it's better than working for an employer, the partnership aspect needs close attention but if you are close friends and share the same outlook it should be ok,you don't know what you will gain if you don't try, have a go,if it falls flat learn from your mistakes and start again, good luck pal, Higgins.
  13. comps baz i dont enter comps Snoops i think you've been flashed somewhere and since your speedo cable was broke your wondering if your going to recieve a speeding fine eh,naughty boy?Either that or you just bought a new running dog and it chased a rabbit but didn't catch it,so you measured the distance to find out how fast the new dog can run eh,your not thick pal, your a genius, but in case you haven't registered the answer it's 10 MPH,now everone watch out for a dog for sale or a dodgy motor by Snoops LOL, Higgins.
  14. i have followed this thread(but i'm not after the £1000 prize),i simply believe that no one can prove both sides of the debate,i have my opinions but they would take too long to type out on here, may i suggest we look for proof of evolution in nature around us,after all we are descended from stars which are our ancestors, let's just enjoy what we have now, scientists are human and they have no extra qualities more than common people have, life in creation whether on an evolution curve or not,is an amazing and stupendous fact that no one can deny, simply the fact that we are here now(and i can s
  15. Snoops i know that even if i were influenced in catching quarry of different colouration, maybe it would add to my pride(thinking of the dog's abilities here),i know one thing is certain i would not waste one piece of flesh from that animal,i would take it home and divide it amongst my hunting companions and the rest would feed the local people etc,no way would i hunt for just a head, the guy that did this is a waste of space for he is not a true hunter IMO, Higgins.
  16. i am in no way attached to any sides on this one, just wondered if a certain colour of a species being hunted would actually influence hunters to 'go after' something which had colouration which was not the norm, Higgins.
  17. i agree with duckwing and gnasher to an extent in so far as you can 'see' they are perfect physical specimens, but you also have to be aware of the 'unseen' genetical makeup of each parent, and as pip's theory goes it is designed to make sure you don't inbreed too close,so i would agree with pip too,in the sense that if you are going to line breed or inbreed then it would be a good rule of thumb to follow, more so in close in breeding ie father to daughter, brother to sister etc,the main thing to consider is what cannot be seen,'recessive genes' for any deformities etc,if the history has been
  18. People are coloured by their experiences, which they seek an answer for, some have greater faith in God while others have greater doubts, the connection to God has to come from within first, then all is revealed but most people do not search long and hard enough for this connection or simply don't know how to. i'm not a church goer and haven't done since school apart from weddings and funerals and i don't rigidly follow religion, but i do have certain codes of conduct i try to live by which most people would call christian values although i may not be 100 % perfect,i strongly feel about huntin
  19. i have an interest in this subject,i see everything as God's creations, sometimes it can affect the way i think about hunting and in the past i enjoyed hunting more because i never thought about it too much. Nowadays i seem to be more conscientious about this aspect, but i realise that God ALSO made hunting animals too,so maybe God allows hunting in a natural way,if God did not plan to have animals hunted,i'm sure he would clever enough not to create a 'hunting instinct' in both man and animals,so i now try to see everything to do with hunting as a natural part of life!i would to hear other
  20. you have some smart looking terriers Lakeman, good hunting, Higgins.
  21. is that sweet and sour rat,now THAT is deifinitely something i would eat!
  22. i must say i've never tried rat for the obvious reasons, but i remember an incident in my early years of catching rats on the local quarry,i was hunting with an old friend with his whippet and me with a cxg 1st x,he said to me if your dog can catch any rat on this tip i will eat it(he had no idea my lurcher was a first rate rat catcher),so i set about hunting amongst the piles of refuse and bricks,at the same time time i told Billy to get his fire going for he was surely about to eat something,he obviously thought my dog was a bit on the heavy side to catch something as fast as a rat, anyway to
  23. just be grateful you have the best of both worlds,at the moment you have a choice of terriers to do the job, match the earth to the terrier and you can't go wrong,as for changing a terrier's attributes,i think you will be splitting hairs,a terrier is best at what he does whether bayer or mute, put the terrier in the right circumstances and they excell,no point in trying to change them, Higgins.
