You say the dog won't re enter the earth after breaking through,at this point has the fox been drawn or despatched?Or is the fox still in the tube and the dog won't re enter?Some more detail needed here.Assuming the fox has been dealt with,the dog appears to be doing a good job,but would also agree with others that at some time in his career he's bound to get marked if dug regularly.I would sooner have a good strong bayer,that would only mix it after you break through perhaps,and as long as the dog is not baying to a fox more than a foot away then i'd say your mate has a good terrier, Higgins

FAR SUPERIOR TO HEMP ESPECIALLY THE WAXED TYPE YOU PROBABLY USED..' made some excellent long nets,gate nets and purse nets till we run out of the stuff,the mill we got it from closed down and i've never been able to get it since.You could see the oil come out in the knots as you tightened them,if you didn't lock the knot properly it would move so double knotting had to be used occasionally to ensure they were tight,atb, Higgins.

I remember using some type of hemp years ago for net making,irish linen i think it was called,it was treated with an oily linseed preservative,seem to be weather resistant,don't see much of this now, Higgins.

After a few hours i'd be seriously worried for a pup,if the pup has not eaten yet then go to the vet,you need to find out why the pup isn't eating,in my experience pups will be hungry and eat almost anything,are there any other symptoms? Higgins. -

we always seem to get a good turn out of antis--good day to get themselfs on tele..13 guest where reading this thread earlier i wonder why ... although most anti groups will know where all the hunts are boxing day.. DONE A FEW MILES ON QUAD TO FIND ONE IN SEEN FOXES ON TOP SEEM TO LIKE LYING OUT IN BRASH COVER ETC IN SNOW ITLL COME MATE GOOD LUCK DABBER nice one Dabchick,good result fella,been out today but now't down,after we finished chechking earths i was just telling a pal we have blank days when i saw a fox going in the direction of earths we just checked,obviously we went back but the dog said no,so we had to leave it at that,it was still staying on top,but because of this i have now found some extra earths to check,Merry Xmas and happy hunting in 2010, Higgins.

No Disrespect to anybody,but you would need to ring the nearest hunt to you to find out if any other hunt meets will be on,as for the list i copied it freely from the net, so anti's could still get that info anyway,the bottom line is everyone needs to support thier nearest foxhunt,apparently last year was a record turnout since the ban,if it is better this year then it's obvious the ban is working against them,this is a good time now to support them and sign up for the protest march for a repeal,happy hunting and all the best for 2010, Higgins.

Had a few unmated jills but they didn't die,expect some problems though as it seems to upset their system in the female kind of way,but i'm sure a good vet could sort it(why am i forvever plugging the vet,the answer is they are more knowledgeable than i am),atb, Higgins.
