  1. You can see more at http://www.gct.org.uk/research__surveys/species_research/birds/waders/1651.asp makes interesting reading.
  2. From a "proper" rescue/rehoming centre, yes (depending on the wording in the contract), but I have a feeling that this dog maybe didn't come from a "proper" centre.
  3. Maybe if she had taken it to avet in the first place it would still be alive. And if it had been a dog kept like that you'd be saying hang the owner. Birds and dogs are very different. Do you have any experience of birds? You are applauding the same sort of people that would give RSPCA legal powers. I am not applauding anybody, you feckin tit. Doesn't matter whether its a pet bird or dog, if its suffering you take it to a vet. If the birds been put down by a vet then it obviously had something drastically wrong with it. Did you not read this post:
  4. There is nothing to stop the owner going to trading standards if they feel they have been sold an unhealthy dog or claiming through the county court.
  5. Why do you keep quoting the RSPCA? I have no love for them or anything they do but they were NOT involved in this case.

  9. I'm with jt750 on this. One's i've dealt with have always been 100% and dogs fit, vaccinated, chipped and normally spayed/castrated before being rehomed (after a home check). Did the dog come as above and was there a homecheck?
  10. Have they been in touch with the "Rescue Centre" (before or after dog pts )?
  11. Why the feck should anyone hang there head in shame for having the balls to stand up for what they believe in.
  12. Heavy handed sentence but it wasn't only about the goldfish, altho' it makes a good headline.
  13. raw meat and bones, fish, eggs, heart, liver. http://www.ukrmb.co.uk for details http://www.rawfeddogs.net/Recipe/List for recipes and to dispel some feeding myths http://www.rawfed.com/myths/
  14. Wagg is basically crap in a bag (and so is Red Mills) Wagg Complete Worker Ingredients Wheat, Meat Meal, Wheatfeed, Oils & Fats, Linseed, Maize, Beet Pulp, Peas, Lucerne, Vitamins and Minerals. Added Citrus, Yeast and Yucca. With Antioxidant: BHT. Typical Analysis Protein 23.00% Oil 8.00% Fibre 3.00% Ash 8.00% The main ingredients are low quality grains. Wheat is believed by many to be the leading cause of food allergies in dogs, and in wheatfeed form, this is a grain fragment which is primarily filler. Wheatfeed is a byproduct of processing wheat for human foods - that is
  15. How bloody true is that. Not so long ago cows were being fed protein supplements in the form of meat and bone meal (remains of other cattle),of course the vets knew best,BSE and vCJD were the consequence of feeding totally unnatural foods to animals.
  16. Seems to me there's only one who can't see, the rest of us seem to be pretty much in agreement.
  17. Chicken (whole or half) is normally easiest to start them on. If he is leaving it, put in the fridge and try again later. Don't give in and give him dry (and don't give him any snacks or treats). When he's hungry he will eat.
  18. Sandymere, once again you confuse what I say with BARF (as in the Billinghurst so called diet), once again I DO NOT FEED BARF. I have never advocated feedng "pet mince" and never would. The majority of vets I have dealt with know very little regarding diet as it is not something that is studied in detail whilst at University and what is studied is sponsored by and materials provided by the main commercial food manufacturers (check with whatever vet you use). Regarding the "study you have posted, once again it is flawed and even admits it No mention of type of chicken (minced, carcase,
  19. They probably paid ££££ for it. LOL
  20. http://rawfed.com/myths/zoonotic.html Myth: RAW-FED ANIMALS POSE A SIGNIFICANT HEALTH RISK TO HUMANS. This is a myth made possible by our society's pathological fear of bacteria. Of the millions of bacteria on this earth, it is estimated that less than 1% are harmful. Media and society as a whole have played up bacteria, painting it as an evil nemesis that must be stomped out with disinfectants, antibacterial everything, and unnecessary vaccination. This has resulted in the emergence of super-bacteria and "super-viruses", no thanks to the improper use of antibiotics and the plethora of antib

  22. Sorry, my supplier doesn't deliver direct that far south, but they do supply Thames Valley Pet Supplies 74 Eastfield Road, Burnham, SL1 7PF 01628 602252 who should be able to get it for you
  23. Look at Crufts. Nuff said
  24. Maybe because I don''t see it as a problem. Hands and surfaces are washed in the same way that we do with our own food and the food I give is all human quality. Regarding dogs and bacteria, if you look at the same studies you "quote" you will see a large proportion of HEALTHY animals tested showed that they carried bacteria. None of the "studies" quote what food is fed to either the sick or healthy animals (but a pound to a penny it would be commercial food) and the "studies" also do not say how the bacteria is being passed to animals but does say that it suspects it is passed to them by huma
