    As has already been said if you already have your dog/s insured and microchipped then nothing will change. If you haven't then use some sense and get it done. Every week there is some poor sod posting cos their dog has gone missing or they cannot afford to have their dog treated and it ends up being pts.

    what dogs do you own and how long have you kept dogs FYI and not that its got feck all to do with you, if you had read the posts above, I own three, 2 lurchers and one patti and have had dogs of various breeds all my life (I'm 51). Dogs of all breeds can and will attack, rarely without some kind of provocation but sometimes who knows why, even so called soft dogs like labradors (the french woman who had the first face transplant had her face ripped off by a lab).     Amazing isn't it, the number of people complaining about this and most are the same people who shoot there mouths/keyboards off when a kiddie gets mauled to death by a dog.

    So I take it you are not joe public then ? If you are reponsible, you insure your car. If you are responsible, you insure your home and belongings (and take out legal expenses as well) If you are responsible, you insure when going on holiday. If you are responsible, you insure your life. If you are responsible, you should insure your dogs (and not just 3rd party). If you are responsible, you should microchip your dogs.

    Define 'a few quid' For me just under £400 a year for 3 dogs. 3rd party on its own would cost a lot less. As in the last year one dog has had over £1500 (still ongoing) treatment and another £300 makes sense to get your dog/s insured (which includes 3rd party liability) They are all microchipped as well, which is another thing they are looking at making compulsary.

    If you can't afford a few quid to insure your dog/s then you shouldn't have them. Doesn't matter how well cared for or well behaved your dogs are, any dog can cause an accident, get in a fight or worse.

    Whats the problem, your dog and YOU are responsible for its actions? Makes sense to insure your dogs, ANYONE'S dog could attack another, run into the road etc. If you have your dogs covered for health insurance most if not all policies give you 3rd party liability cover.

    If you are going to insure your dog/s and/or board them when on holiday then you need to get them jabbed at vets so you can prove that they have been properly vaccinated.

    As I said above, I do not recommend any dry or commercial dog "food", I only feed raw (ukrmb.co.uk for details http://www.rawfeddogs.net/Recipe/List for recipes). Heard good reports for orijen and the ingredients look very good but at the end of the day its still processed and has carbs and supplements which I do not agree with. I prefer feeding raw and my dogs certainly enjoy and thrive on it.

    Have a look at wafcol maintaince it's a low protien food and fairly cheap £15 a sack it's for resting dogs an injured have a look it's the best quality If thats what you call best quality ... I just wonder what this litter has done to be bred other than the fact that they are KC registered and someone obviously needs some money. she has bred it for her daughters 1 aged 29 the other 22 / 23 they wanted a pup out of her. 1 has had a black bitch and the other a black dog. so they've bred her for their own use !! cheers for bringing it up .. as i was

    For someone who tries to put someone down all the by using such quotes as young etc you really need to grow up, wake up and smell the coffee. For ANYONE to claim that something is better without also testing alternatives is living in cloud cuckoo land. You say that sight hound types have different needs but do not show the PROPER research which proves this. Pehaps you also ought to look at some of the "scientists" you quote other research re dogs diets in hot climates and cancer and diet.
