  2. well guys this is turning to a debate which is good lets not let it turn into an earth dog and working terrier section style debate if you know what i mean were more refined than that when i started out some17 years ago locators were things you saw in magazines geting purse nets used all my money and just keeping my ferrets single parent family see so never used them i remember one deepwarren some 40 holes plus waited for over 3 hours for my best jill no sighn so took the nets up ready to go as it was freezing and stuck my sandy hob down some time later probably 20 minites rabbits started bo

  5. hi all going to have a look at acouple of ferrets thursday unwanted last summers i believe i want to see them hanled first mind not sure how they are being kept at the moment i myself unfortunatly am a perfectionist at anything i do so you can imagine my jills in tip top with a tip top hutch any advise on these two new ones any advise on rescue ferrets i had a couple when i was a lad about 17 years ago they were fine cheers guys

  12. yep looked a great day out an as said crakin dogs is the red one a dog ar a bitch same couloring as a faro hound i saw last summer he was a real stunner
  13. bit more hight i think i have a hutch 6 feet long 2 feet high and 3 feet wide for a couple of ferrets you can get some flexible black tubing they put under ground for cables im having trouble geting some my self that stuffs spot on for me i let myne out in the shed and kitchen tubes n stuff are good for boredum i cut a few holes in some old leather footballs as a bit of something to do will get some pics up soon but sat on my phone and knakerd it
  14. good topic as said contact the feret rescues enuf of them im breeding this coming season as i havent had ferrets for some 17 years and the jill i have isnt how i want her an i wouldnt sell some poor kid around the block a biter shes fine for working and i as i have said love the original pole colour do need an albino for working cover but were back at genetics again if a pole comes from alitter of mixed it should produce mixed
  15. theres line breeding then inbreeding linebreeding can produce faults as the lines the same so they hAVE THE SAME faults breeding to closely inbreeding creates the faults thats natures way of warning theres tons of ferrets up n down the country all difrent coulors and size get in what you want even just borrow a hob or buy a new jill just my opinion not an expert

  17. shes on her a own at the mo im not working so cash a bit tight but am trying to locate another let her out most days for a run about its never got any worse but it aint got a lot beter
  18. when i put a sandy hob to a polecat jill unrelated i ended up with 4 sandy 3 pole 3albino so would of thought same with a silver or a black eyed your guna get a percentage of what you want and some one will always prefer the others like i prefer pole colour but might put a silver to my jill this season just to see dont agree with sibling to parent mating myself would you like it wild polecats are solitary and boot there young out
  19. hi all i got a jill a couple of months ago shes a craker but a bit nippy she was the last one to go so she had become a bit ignored by the bloke its not a bite as such any advise on how to kerb this my old ferrets were spot on i could put my finger in there mouths no probs guna breed off her and get the young how i want them do you think she will grow out of this nipp or will it allways be there cheers
  20. best to use screws as well as wood glue and four bits for each corner inside the box for extra strength then if you drop it it wont fall to bits good luck it will keep you warm building it in this weather

  22. yep agree get out n about when i was a lad didnt have ferret collars they were about but a bit expencive any bother used to just send the hob down dont like the hedgerows meself can never tell whats conected to what cant always be choosy best to have a dog save time but saying that just being out there taking it all in is part of what its all about for me
