  4. I always pan fry them in a good extra virgin olive little oil over a high heat, once nicley browned on both side turn the heat off and immediatley with the residual heat of the pan pop in a the pan a large-ish knob of butter. de-glase the pan with the butter and baste the breast with the foaming melted butter. Its lovely served on grannery toast as a nice late supper. You can also, half way through cooking the pid add sliced mushrooms to the pan and add the butter as before give a beautifull flavour to the butter liquor and is also lovely on toast. Hope that helps ATB Jonno

  7. Hi Danny, There is an AYA 'Coral' on Guntrader: http://www.guntrader.co.uk/GunsForSale/100401174231000 Very pretty looking over and under with nice engraving for £795. whats the spec on the sporter and how much are they looking for on it? I have had a look on the AYA website and I haven't found anything terribly enlightening. http://www.aya-fineguns.com/index.php Sorry this isn't terribly helpful. ATB Jonno
  8. I have been told that as long as you are just screw cutting the barrel and not shortening it, thereby altering the inside of the barrel, there is no requirement to have it re-proofed. That is what I have just done anyway! ATB Jonno
  9. Yes totally possible in fact it is bread and butter work for most gun smiths. Cost depends on gunsmith, I have just had my winchester coyote lite sent off by the gunshop to be screw cut it cost £55, they send them via courier to somewhere don't know where I am afraid. I am sure there are plenty of chaps on here who can recomend someone to you. Hope thats helpfull. ATB Jonno

  11. If you are thinking of selling your old scope I would be very interested. ATB Jonno
  12. I have two .22's on my ticket too, I bought a CZ bolt action 453 originally (really great gun) and a couple of months ago I bought a Ruger 10/22. Now I might have just been really lucky with the one I bought but the 10/22 has been amazing, it runs winchester subs perfectley, yes I get the very occassional jam when I have put a couple of hundred rounds through it and its dirty, but I am talking like a jam ever 2 or 3 25 round magazine. I know that everyone will give you horror stories about them being totally unreliable but this has honestly not been my experience. As for accuracy, your
  13. I'm with Stubby on this one. I bought a hatsan last year because I wanted something I could use and not worry about it getting knocked about and muddy etc. I have a heritage 525 as my 'best' gun but shooting it on the quad or out the back of the truck and it getting caked in sh*te really bothered me as it was a substantial investment. I wanted a semi for using rough, I was really tempted to buy a benelli (if your going to spend a bit of cash buy a benell) because it has a much much better action than any other manufacturer. Rather than using the hot gases which fill the action on
  14. Hahaha.... Sorry I know I am being totally immature but when I read that it made me laugh out load! I know a lot of people use the internet for just that one handed purpose! Jonno
  15. Know what you mean mate, I cant get Winchester super X .22's at any of the local dealers they are all sold out and waiting stock at the mo Very annoying! ATB Jonno
  16. Well done mate good bag! Did you have to do much training with you lab or did it all come naturally? I have a young dog which I hope to take out this season but I don't really have the first clue how to train him! ATB Jonno

  18. Thanks everyone for all your help, it is much appreciated. Verminator, thanks for that I use Wilson and Wilson as my first choice everytime Peter is a really helpful knowledgable bloke. I have had a look at the 25 shot mags in there but to be honest I am just being mean I thought I might find them cheaper, he does have them but at nearly £50 a throw which I thought was a bit steep. Having looked about though it looks like I am going to have to bite the bullet and shell out for them! Thanks for your help all. ATB Jonno
  19. Where abouts near Canterbury? There are quite a few pubs that will take them which specialise in game. I know that the hop pocket at Bossigham has taken them in the past. If your local has a good chef why not offer them to them? I used to do it when I lived near Tunbridge wells, plus on the up side you can barter them for a few beers. Sorry to go off topic but if you ever want someone to go with you I looking for some more local shooting, I moved to Ehlham about 2 years ago and still havent found anything local! All my permissions are an hour away. Hope thats not too cheeky! All the be
  20. Would it not be simpler buy her the gun and put it on your ticket, rather than having a ticket each? She could still choose and pay for it. Just a thought. ATB Jonno

  23. Personally I think I would opt for a Ruger 10/22. I know is rather ubiquitous but they are cheap and you can upgrade everything. Plus, from my point of view, you can get large volume mags (25 rounders) which can be really handed lamping at night, not fidling around trying to fill mags in the dark. The magazines on the buckmark are really expensive. Hope that helps ATB Jonno
