  1. Hard to mistake, no matter the colour lad. Unless the footage is of the grainy, out of focus type
  2. You'd have to prove that they exist, before you could ever get them protected. This must bring conflict to the big cat community. Some hiding locations and evidence, whilst others are seeking protection?
  3. Feck all will happen. They can't even get one to pass anywhere near a trail cam, never mind a trap. As for guns, they wouldn't know where to start. One thing I don't get, is why these enthusiasts want them protected. Feckin alien species. No benefit to the countryside. They'd make a nice wall hanger mind.
  4. Nothings black and white when it comes to nature lad. Maybe there are several factors including the rise in Otter numbers, in your part of the world.
  5. Interesting read on the subject Just a moment... ONLINELIBRARY.WILEY.COM
  6. Difference is, we've always had big numbers of otters in Ireland compared to the UK. Mink have been living along side them for the last sixty years or more, with little drop in numbers. Admittedly mink numbers do seem to be down the last two or three years here, but don't think that couldn't be because of otters.
  7. They seem to have little or no effect on the mink here. Where you find mink tracks, you'll probably find Otter too.
  8. Without even looking at the video. The width of the white line, tells you all you need to know
  9. Lads where do I get this dvd, and how much?
  10. Yes, either that or mice. Mice can make a hell of a racket, for their size. Check to see if any of the PB is being taken from the rat traps. I keep rat and mouse traps set in attic all year round.
  11. Wolfdog, there's not a man in the UK that would be able to sort a problem big cat. Wouldn't know where to start?. They get out the army, and a few helicopters to try track it down. Also, regarding trail cams, the believers have many of them set in the big cat hotpots. Surely there would have been a decent picture got at this stage, if indeed they were there.
  12. To be fair mate, Wolfdog didn't agree with everything that you have said here. Yes, he does say that he believes it could be possible for there to be a breeding population of big cat of some sort in the UK, and that they are indeed very illusive animals. On the other hand, he mentions that there are Jaguars migrating from Mexico to the US, that are very seldom seen, yet they have been captured on trailcam. Now we are probably talking very few animals, yet there is real evidence. I have certainly taken something from his post, hopefully you have too.
  13. WHY????? CAUSE THATS THE WHY!!! Hope that answers your question.?
  14. No mate. Just tried my hand at snaring them. Still no pro by any means, but nice to get them in a snare. Near all of them were alive like that, and snares hardy damaged.
  15. I caught one (of many) in a mink cage one time, and let it out. Next day I came back to check traps, and it was back in the same trap, but this time, trap was at the bottom of the river. It must have had issues?
  16. A, i don't do Facebook lad. Bit slow regards the whole social media thing. ?
  17. That's strange? Police in Belfast issue hilarious response after viral photo of 'leopard escaped from Zoo' fools locals - Irish Mirror Online WWW.IRISHMIRROR.IE All was not as it seemed Someone use the same picture?
  18. "The reality is, if this was lying by the side of the road in the UK it would be all over social media, the news, and have national interest in minutes" Very true. This blew up a storm big time on social media, and in the newspapers.
