Another thing that just doesn't make sense. Who in their right mind, would dip half their flock to see if dip works on deterring predators from attacking their flock? Just as an experiment.? It would be like throwing money down the drain to prove a point. I honestly can't see any farmer doing such thing. They would surely dip all their sheep, and see if farmer Tom down the road (who for some strange reason, doesn't dip his sheep), gets cleaned out over a few nights. By the way lad. I'm not suggesting for a minute that your a lier, but do believe that lies are being told in your circles.

Mate read even a small part of this. It literally debunks most of what you say, about different climate, terrain etc. Some individual cats even seem to be dedicated sheep killers. Just a moment... BESJOURNALS.ONLINELIBRARY.WILEY.COM

Any mention of dipped sheep not being attacked in the study? Any mention of dipping being a solution to the attacks? Sorry, I read some, but not all of the study.

Seemingly they are still out there, crossing the Channel Tunnel as we speak

Ha, what I was getting at, was that if humans can consume after 14 days, they there is obviously no smell or taste of the meat at that stage, if at all. So how long would dipping deter a cat from killing and consuming dipped sheep?

Another thing that doesn't add up. Well for me anyways. The stories about people letting out their pet leopards etc, back in the day, when laws changed How come we haven't read about stories of these pets turning up at people's doorsteps? Yes we read about them being released in quiet places, away from people etc. Well how vast is the British countryside? I'm sure these cats can travel a fair distance, within a few days. Any recent escapee's, seem to turn up close to built up area's, fairly quickly, and are delt with. Why not all these cats released in the seventies? Th

Safe for human consumption after 14 days. Maybe a deterrent for a week or so at best id say.

Here's the thing though. Is dipping not part and parcel, of breeding sheep? In this day and age, I would assume all farmers dip their sheep. Why even large flocks of hill sheep are rounded up for dipping, or am I wrong on that statement?

I don't give dogs bones any more. Always end up killing each other over them. Tend to bury them more often, when you have more than one dog.
-
Speaking of which. Seemingly a better test is to slice down along the neck, where you should find a mass of clotted blood, from where the cat killed it's prey by asphyxiation. This is suppose to be a sure sign it was a cat kill.

The young dispersing juveniles , seem to be fairly brainless, like the young of any species I suppose. Why hasn't one been trapped or shot in the UK, after all this time? I've read a few articles about sheep kills by M lions in parts of the US. No mention of dipping being a deterrent. Even if it was, it would probably only work if they were freshly dipped.

Just stuck it up as an example lad. I believe it's instinct. Same with well fed house cats killing stuff.
-
Sorry mate, I don't buy that for one minute. It's instinctual. Like a dog burying a bone. We need to look at this through animal behaviour, and not human rational. As I said before lad. Stop believing those nut jobs, and seek the truth.

Well apologies if I picked you up wrong. I was sure when someone asked, why their not killing sheep in area's of sightings, you said they don't really go for sheep. More so deer etc. By the way. Any photo's of these sheep covered by foliage, as we know big cats like to hide their kills? Honest question. Not trying to be smart. Just keeping it real.
-
They don't really attack sheep though, do they. Well that's what the experts have told us.

Some mothers do ave em.

Are we talking genus Panthera here man?

I don't know Tony. From the original video, it looks average size to me. Hard tell size from such video's or images, you'd really have to revisit the area, and use something to show actual size.

What about now?

Think we've had that before

Wolfdog, for a young lad, you've seen more than most on here. I take my hat off to you. We all need to appreciate what we have, and realize things could be a hell of a lot worse.?

Very impressive looking device. They really do think outside the box in that part of the world. Helps that they have plenty of funding from their government mind.

Not sure, but always thought he deserved a good back hander
