Something like that happened 5 minutes down the road from my old house. Two armed men broke in and held the man hostage but his wife came home with the kids and the guy broke free and killed one of them. It was a f**king disgrace, the police stood guard over the house and the relatives of the c*nt that was stabbed were allowed to place flowers outside the house....the guy moved his family away as you can imagine. We used to live in a nice part of town but it was still a filthy sh*t hole. Crime rate here is close to zero...I love it

Yep thats the STOP tour, we have to do them several times a week! As we were a service company it was a quick way to get hated by the rig crew so I would make all of mine up. We had a really annoying HSE guy in Aberdeen, he was always banging on about holding hand rails and reverse parking (which is safer in case of a fire LOL) one day some one spotted him carrying his bike up a flight of stairs without holding the hand rail so they put a STOP card in about him...

I worked on a rig where knives were banned. You would have to go to the OIM and request a cutting tool which you would have to sign out for your job. They were so zealous over HSE that someone was spotted cutting a bread roll towards himself using a bread knife and we had a foul mouthed announcement over the tannoy that if this happened again they would confiscate all knives from the galley I hated working in the North Sea, we had to do risk assessments for everything and there was something called STOP tours where you had to walk around looking for unsafe things or acts. It's wireless and works if it's near the meter which is in the garage. I tried putting it in the kitchen which is the perfect location to see how much electricity we're using and we cant get a signal....tried moving it aroundthe house but as we have a very long bungalow it can't get a signal....I got pissed off with it and put it back in the garage next to the meter.

It depends. if you're one of those folks who keeps ahead of bills then maybe not. But, as someone mentioned if you're using a meter then it's easy to see what your using day to day. OR, if you're like me who's useless with money then it's nice to have the bill paid up front. If your contract is nearly up then don't wait. Ring the opposition now and ask them how much they'll give you to join. Then ring your current supplier and tell them. Get the ball rolling. Push push push. I worked with one guy who was ex sas and he said they spend most of their time sitting in ditches just watching...not what the TV leads you to believe. Another one was in intelligence monitoring the IRA, they had trackers on their weapons caches and would break into their houses to see what they were up to, sometimes playing mind games by moving ornaments etc I'm sure the snatch squads attached to the US special forces got plenty of action though.
