    I wouldnt think anyone would actually know your dog was off those lines unless you told them? ear tattooes shouldnt make a difference to how the dog is judged, perhaps the reason your dog is not doing well in shows is because its not racy enough? collie crosses dont usually do well in shows unless they have more sighthound in them than collie. Does it really matter? if your dogs agood worker then who cares what a judge thinks?

    The kc's rule is that a bitch can have 6 litters registered during her lifetime. I think what Chubs is asking is whether you need to declare if your having less than the 5 litters per year which would require the breeder to get a license. Im not sure on this one but I think it applies to all breeds and crossbreeds regardless of kc reg for example hancock has one and he is not a breeder of kc reg or even purebreed dogs but Im sure there is some loophole somewhere that says if you breed less than 5 but are considered bu the local council to be running a business then you need a license. for exam

    Yes there seems to be a lot of people voting bad but most of the comments are positive ones, could those who voted bad please explain what it is about the dogs that made you vote this way?

    the main issue I see with women having dogs for hunting is that 99% of them are too sentimental when it comes to the dogs workig abilitys they view the dog as being a pet so if it doesnt make the grade they keep it regardless. men tend to be more harsh in their culling methods which is why all the top names in lurchers terriers gundogs etc are mostly men this is not meant to offend, just a general observation

    the show world is full of superficial people judging dogs on superficial standards which have very little to do with work

    Nice set up and not a bad price either. Breeze is right, you might want to put some anti chew strips around the doorframes etc to keep your wood looking new for as long as poss

    the best thing to do is set it so only people who you approve can post comments its a waste of time getting into arguments with these people they wont see your point of view no matter what you say let them stay blind and igorant, blind leading the blind they fall into the pit, best place for them

    I was reading the deerhound thread the other day and I felt a bit sorry for you getting all that stick but now reading this I think people might be right you say your friend doesnt have a mobile? come on fella even little 9 and 10 yr old kids have mobiles these days

    ok those are fair enough comments most lurchers will pick up a scar or two your right. perhaps you could post some pictures of your dogs as from the sound of things you work them a lot so they must be quite scarred up going by your posts, and it will be easy to tell from the photos the difference between your dogs and dogs that arent worked yes?

    A stud dog is only as good as what he can produce. If you put a good dog to a variety of good bitches and he doesnt throw anything worthwhile then he cant be called a good stud dog or prepotent I think the correct word? It doesnt matter how good a dog is, if he cant reproduce himself well then theres no point using him over your bitch. Its best to always try to use a dog thats not only proven in his field ie coursing, digging or whatever, but also a dog that has consistently sired good pups with the same sort of qualities he himself possesses.
