  1. Seen one in the seventies, good looking bitch, bumped into the guy one morning said he had four hares in his bag, more like hotair in it,if you were carrying four hares I think the bag would have looked a bit bulky to say the least, but the bitch certainly looked the part.
  2. Chalkwarren, reading through Whin's PRICKLY QUESTION read your post about wanting to write about lurcher health @ maintenance. There is a book called The Care and Maintenance of the Racing Greyhound , I've not got it myself but I got a look at it a while back,I reckon it's probably regarded as the greyhound bible, the authers are 3 American vets, it's packed full of information, maybe if Dan Edwards reads this he might have had a look at it and confirm what i've said I have tried to purchase it from Amazon they wanted £150 second hand, to expensive for me,regards W G H
  3. You dont need deerhound x's for red deer others can do the job aswell. I would say fallow run pretty well much better than sika or muntjac. Skitz, I'm just stating my prefered dogs. I've never lamped any deer of any spieces so I can't comment on it, in the past it was always first light I've never seen sika or muntjak on ground that I worked, roe was the most common and I would be very peeved if any dog I owned missed one, fallow as far as I'm concerned couldn't run a message. RED different ball game, You could catch them with smaller dogs, but as I've said I was out at daybreak and it ha

  5. Seen a lot of different crosses, dogs from the same litter good and bad. They have to be hard and fast and WANT it, cant comment on Sika or muntjak, Roe [hard @ fast] Fallow [cant run] Red [deerhound full or cross ],on saying that I've seen a deerhound cross that was useless but I've seen some that were awesome.
  6. You didn't say how deep the cut is,I'll guess it's not deep, I would take the dressing off tomorrow and let the bitch clean it herself.
  7. Are you saying he was banned from driving, 'cause he was caught coursing ? if so that's frightening.
  8. Most probably her being in season, makes a lot of bitches do strange things, just like a woman in the menopause
  9. Understand your predicament, retired same bitch four years running and kept bringing her out of retirement to train pups with her,she loved going out and would go in a bad mood if left behind.
  10. Raw green tripe great for dogs but do'nt over do it,vary diet, seen a litter of pups get ruined by feeding solely on tripe.
  11. To each their own,it's not a type I would consider, all the best.
  12. can/t see pics, but breeding sounds great, much like same breeding of bitch I had years back, one of the best bitches <if not the best bitch> I've ever owned or seen, good luck with pups. I have a full kennel just now, or I'd be bending your ear for one.
  13. Totally agree with Iceman, why would you ?
  14. Awright Bilson,I've had a few different crosses some good some not so good, the more work you give them the better but try and get a dog that has been bred from dogs that have got a bit of a name for themselves, you wont be garaunteed a champion but you'll give yourself a head start. Plenty of work's the secret. Awra best.
  15. Lard @ suet, [but not always available] has been mentioned, but if you think your dogs really need some extra fat in their diet everybody's always got a tub of margarine in thier fridge a wee spoonfull should do the job
