  1. I have recently been informed that in order to buy a PCP Air Rifle I will need some sort of licence? Is this right and would this be why on the Deep Blue website they aren't advertising how much they are? Thanks.
  2. Mine get fed as much rabbit as I can provide but when I have none they get dry food and mine used to cough at times, I bought a ferret malt paste that a vet advised me to try and Ive never heard them cough since I started using it.
  3. I just can't wait! I've been making loads of nets and I have a few new ferrets to try out from this years early litter!
  4. I often get shouted and screamed at off the public whilst ferreting, just this year a member of the public acused me of badger baiting with my ferrets! I had to laugh at that one! But I have had several visits off the police after checking my car registration and finding my address. LDR off here got a visit off the police after ferreting with me as we went in his car - it was christmas eve aswell Ive been called cruel, animal hater and evil to name but a few things. It just makes me want to do it all the more to try and educate stupid, ignorant people!
  5. What a brilliant day! Well worth going tomorrow
  6. Im going on the Saturday, after a night shift!
  7. Thats just awful Woodga. Hope you find out who did it. Scum.
  8. How much would you sell for without the divers bottle and scopes? Cheers.
  9. Well, better news today. He responded to the antibiotic and steroid injection which means that its likely to be a middle ear infection, as long as he stays ok for the next week while he's on the antibiotics he should be fine! So Im well chuffed and feeling a lot happier today. Just shows its worth taking them to the vets at the first signs of illness. It did cost me a small fortune but he's a great worker and he's only 1 year old so should have many years left in him!
  10. Not a good day. Got home after night shift; cleaned the ferrets out (A daily occurrence) Went to put the ferrets back into the court and my hob ‘George’ just didn’t look right . He was salivating a lot and looked listless. Straight off to the vets to be told it looked like something neurological? Perhaps a stroke or distemper!! He had a steroid and antibiotic injection and will be going back to the vets first thing in the morning. In the meantime I have to keep him separate from the rest and have to keep an eye on the rest for the next week. Just hope my luck changes and he’s ok. I
  11. In the pics they do look like sandy's In the flesh though they look like silvers? Either way - they will be great little workers, I cant wait til september to try mine out!! Ian, they look really well settled!
  12. I have never had any of mine vaccinated but I do know of someone near me who lost a great working ferret to distemper. Im sure there is no 'registered' vaccination for vets to use - but I could be wrong? Just make sure they have adequate housing, fresh meat and water for the basics - lots of handling as an extra. Ive had mine for nearly 3 years now and cant imagine life without them. Roll on October!!!
  13. Knew I'd seen that info somewhere else Good post there!
  14. Oh crap, I know how you feel - just lost my pat last friday. No amount of words can make you feel better, like you - I'm hoping time is a great healer. RIP.XX
  15. Just, had to stay at vets until this morning on a drip. No broken bones (luckily) on loads of tablets and has to go back again in 4 days.
  16. I cant say anymore than I already have, she was often aggressive with other dogs but rarely - if ever her own dogs. She was excellent at rabbiting and would probably have been a great earth dog; unfortunately I will never know as I didnt have permission for that although I tried very hard to get some. This was a severe aggressive incident towards one of her own dogs - I had to make a decision - Pass her on to someone else with all her aggressiveness or try again with her and risk losing my best working dog if they fought again or get her put to sleep. I know I did the right thing, I dont regre
  17. i absolutely agree with that, I tried so many times to get permission on fox to no avail, i even took her ratting at times and she was walked twice a day for an hour each time. I so wish things had been different.
  18. Could ave tried rehoming her 1st bud, killin it was bit drastic!! If it was the first aggressive episode I would have agreed, but its not.
  19. Seriously, she has been aggressive for a while now, I have tried so many different things, Ive had muzzles on her, she is awful with other dogs - she just hasnt been this bad with her own dogs until now, the vet said they couldn't be left together again. I wouldn't pass on the problem to someone else. I really am gutted, I loved her to bits and she was so good at rabbiting. Its a sad day - one which will stay with me for a long time.
  20. Today I was taking my dogs for their walk, as usual the two terriers went in the hatchback boot and my EBX was on the front seat. I wasn't even out of the street and the two terriers started fighting, I stopped the car got them out and they continued to rip into each other. Eventually I got them apart and they were both in a bad state. They went straight to the vets who wanted to send them both into the vet hospital, they were still gunning for each other at this point and the vet said they would never be safe to be left alone together. My partner and me made the hardest decision ever and opte
