  1. 11 here so thats 164 total.
  2. Well, she's adamant it was a weasel Says there is now way a fox could get in, there's just small holes big enough for a ferret sized animal? She also reakons thats how weasels kill their pray? I don't know - I know very little about them to be honest.
  3. RECORD HIGH JUMP FROM A KNEELING POSITION A new world's record in the high jump from a kneeling position was set last week at a beach in southern France The picture below was taken just three seconds before the jump took place!
  4. Yes, thats what I thought!
  5. Their necks are all broken and half heads eaten.
  6. Just had my mate on the phone, she says a weasel has killed 40 of her chickens. She wants rid of it but hasnt got a clue where to start. Any ideas?
  7. Oh yes! I'm keeping two hobs and two jills, Ive only got three to choose now. I've got a right soft spot for the youngster now
  8. Well, just an update; the youngster is doing fine, no signs of infection and the wounds have nipped together well, I think he's going to be silver too Oh and I grabbed a rare chance to work out what sex they all are and there are 5 hobs and 6 jills!
  9. Well, I moved the other ferrets today and there has been bedlam, she's been racing round trying to get out leaving her kits for ages! She only settled when I put the others back in and she dragged them all in with her. I think I'll just leave things as they are, the little hob is still here and is doing great! What I have done is locked the top bed area shut so she has no where to move them to now so fingers crossed things go ok.
  10. Yes, thats very true, but I think he means during spring/ summer.
  11. Well, he's still here and fighting fit! We're managing to put the antibiotic stuff on him and she's accepting him back every time. I just hope he manages to stay as well til he's all healed up.
  12. When i didnt have a big court for my ferrets I made this for them and spent 45 mins a day in the garage with them. It was great fun!
  13. I dont think so? I honestly think its the changes in the weather. When its cold she has them in the bottom bed area and when its hotter she puts them in the top bed area which has much more ventilation. Ive moved some of the tubes so she'll have less chance of dropping them now, theres only one way in and one way out of both bed areas now as opposed to several ways. Fingers crossed eh.
  14. I tried that last year. Ive got the facility to lock her in the bed area she's in but she went crazy trying to get out last year when I locked her in and I thought that would be even more distressing for her, its not even as if its too small - its like a hutch inside the court, Ive just altered the amount of tubes I have in now in the hope that it doesnt happen again and ive put an exercise mat on the bottom of the court.
  15. What a nightmare this morning! My jill keeps moving her kits – she did this last year too. She moves them from one bed area to the other in the court and she does this a few times every day but this morning she dropped one ; it bounced off two tubes and hit the floor, she then ran down, picked it up and took it into the bed area then off she went to get the rest of them. I seized the opportunity to check it, there was an inch long split on its back, a nick on its neck and quite a substantial split across its side . The only option I had was to rush him to the vets. They put him on a heat p

  18. Well, today my jill gave birth to 12 kits, they all look healthy and she seems fine. I havent got a clue if they are jills or hobs as its too early to check. Fingers crossed they all get to adulthood safely!
