  1. Yeah I know that, duh!!!! The topic is DRAW DOGS and as you've probably already noticed I don't believe lurchers should be used in such fashion. Just my opinion. What's wrong with letting the fox walk out of the hardened stand back and when he gets up slip the lurcher then ??? Still gona get the fox, farmer happy. It might save your precious lurchers a few teeth in the long run.
  2. Yeah some get away !!! You do what you want I'm not interested. If you can't see the difference and it's plain as night and day you obviously havnt a clue. Why keep lurchers then ? a wheaten or a staff can do the same job as what your using your lurcher for !!! Hardends....!!!
  3. part an parcel of the sport is getting bit part an parcel of being in the army is getting shot at but you dont see them going out without there bullet proofs stick a lurcher in or maybe yous dont have one can do the job Ha ha nah I don't keep lurchers my mates do and they're well up for the job. Thing is lurchers are breed for speed so they can catch a fox are they not ???? So we pull the fox out by hand. Your not always in a good spot to drop it so we take it into a field or area thats suitable throw it down give it a head start an then let ONE lurcher off. Now pal that is going
  4. I've seen plenty of fellas that love digging but aren't too keen on getting down in and grabbing stuff out. yeah sometimes you get bit. I'd to go and get stitches this time last year and a jab, but hey that's all part and parcel of the sport. If it's in tight it's not to bad if you can tail it thats ok too, if it's headon and has a bit of breathing space I've used a stick the odd time and when it grabs the stick I grab it by the back of the scran and pull it out the f::k..... Simple as.

  10. The lads up here said the same. water levels far too low and fishing generally bad. A few salmon were caught but not anywhere near the usual limits. My friends were out Saturday that was the last of the season.
  11. Lurchers are breed for speed so why let them draw a fox??? Grab the fox out and throw it up the field. Give it a good run and then let your lurcher off. That'll test the dog far more than a tight draw. I had a good lurcher years ago but I was too young and uneducated at the time. He killed every fox in style until one day I killed three out of cover with him and because we were out with other lads me trying to be the big man, I let him draw a tight dog fox out after all his days work. Needless to say he killed it but he snapped two fangs in half and lost three teeth in the proceeds. He wasn't

  19. Woke up a few weeks back about 3am with one of the terriers squealing it's bag off. Thought it had got a cat or somehow boned one of the other dogs threw the wire. Ran out the back to find the terrier glued to a big f****r off a hedgehog. Blood all over the pen. Got it off him and had a few needles to pull out of his face, there was loads on the floor of the pen. Went back to bed an checked 10 mins later hedgehog still curled up in a ball t the corner of the garden were I left it. It was away when I got up for work the next day. Never seen it until a month later when I came across it squashed
