  1. went out on sunday down to a local river for a few hours with the young fella. we were fishing for pike but no joy this time. nothing was happening so my son threw a worm on and within 10mins he had landed a brown trout just under a pound in a half. then he hit another 1 shortly after. 1 and 3/4lbs. i got jealous and set my rod up with a worm as well and instantly caught a brown 1 and 3/4lbs also. the young fella was well chuffed to say the least, so was i. on the pan tonight theyll go. all the best................ mudd dog..............

  5. booked the day off work an headed to my favourite lake with a few friends. this particular lake has served me extremely well this season with 4 fish over 20 and plenty of good doubles from october last year. it was slow to begin in the morn with just a 2.5lber being caught. after a few hours things started to heat up as each fish caught kept getting bigger than the previous. 3.5lb followed by a 5lber then a two 6.25lbers. all within 2 hours. then my mates float disappeared and he hooked into a decent fish late in the day, 19lber. all the fish gave good accounts for themselves as all were very

  7. a very good thread SGS.. lads... this man knows what he's talking about. it's HORSES FOR COURSES. maybe SGS's jrt wouldnt suit over here,, at this end of the pond?? even though still a pup!! sgs's dog shows that it has the 'brains' to deal with a quarry extremely larger than itself. in a way that it has been specifically breed for. keep the posts coming lads very interesting ignorance is bliss!!!!

  10. hi mexlad. a while back, a good friend of mine that i dig with picked a so called 'runt' of a litter, while everyone laughed at him, thinking he was keeping them going. to make a long story short, 6 in the litter. the breeding was in the pups but barr one other pup his bitch ''the runt'' has turned into a great worker. she is up there, if not the best bitch ive ever seen. not too many laughing now. anyway thats my two cents. good luck anyway mexlad......................mudd dog................

  14. i decided late yesterday afternoon to take the young fella down the road to a wee lake id fish regularly for pike. since it was a great day i brought a barbecue and a few tins for good measure. we hadnt been there long and my son had a run on a mackerel tail on the bottom. 3 lber. he was pleased as punch at his first ever pike. shortly after i got a run on a popped up pollen just off the bottom. turned out to be an 8lber but it didnt half fight. it tail walked out of the water at least 4 different times, great crack. shortly before we left my young fella got another run, mackerel tail again.

  16. them striping combs aint worth a bat mate. cant comment on them magnetic striping tools though ive ordered one myself just to see if they're any good. i can pluck a few of my dogs but it takes forever and when your half way threw your sorry you began.
  17. it still locates but it wont locate up to 15ft. as far as i can remember its doubled so 2ft is really 4ft etc. im nearly certain thats the way it worked. just try it out above ground and you will see for yourself anyway.......mudd dog

  19. im not sure what the point is in this poll or what its purpose is??? to me nothing is going to be proven or achieved by it. so, pointless really. everybody to there own i say. you shouldnt have to explain yourself if you have a certain opinion, its your own choice and the next person may agree or disagree thats there's. simple as.
