  1. Get the mainspring out asap mate, you never know who's reading an open forum ;-)
  2. I suspect he might have had an educated guess after looking at his pellet tin, or he could have wildly stabbed in the dark after reading the side if the breech block...
  3. Oh yeah,i think its the U.S. spec thats 18 ft/lbs, it was originally designed by beeman and known as the r1 and made to run at the higher workload so that adult's would buy it in the states cos pellet guns were generally seen as kids toys over there.
  4. Apart from my , it probably is andy lol Triggers are easy to adjust mate, just undo the screw behind the trigger inside the trigger guard to make it lighter, do it up to make it Best breaky out there in my experience, but I haven't had a go on andy's 90 (yet!)
  5. Give tony(phantom) a shout mate, he'll set you right. One of the soundest guys on here is our tony :-)
  6. Come to the next meet craig, plenty of friends to be made there buddy.
  7. i've had a go on a couple of 98's. the untuned one was a lovely rifle to shoot, very accurate. the tuned ones a different animal altogether, silky smooth, minimal recoil and accurate as hell. both were definitely worth a look at, and reckoned by some to be the hidden jewel in weihrauchs crown, very underrated rifles indeed. cheers, wurz
  8. Actually, thats how I got my main permission. I asked the farmer if I could zero my rifle on his fields that back on my house, and then took a bottle of wine to day thanks the following day. He gave me a 20 acre field to clear, which I did, and over the next year let me on the rest of his 1500 acres over the south downs as I proved myself to him. Cheers, wurz
  9. Another vote here for the mighty . Although I'd be looking for a tidy 15+ year old one for around 150 notes cos then you could have it tuned by an expert and still have plenty left over for a good scope and mounts.or tune it yourself and get a very good scope! Cheers, wurz
  10. Well I've had a go on davy's one andy, and apart from being way too light for my taste, its a cracking airgun to shoot. Minimal kick and smoother than sean connery in a cashmere codpiece. Really enjoyed that first vid, with some good long distance shooting from yourself mate, nice one. Cheers, wurz
  11. Someone always has to come along and spoil it all... Lol Took it out this morning,3 rabbits and 3 ferals, so it definitely works, although it does have a bit of a crack to it. Time to work out a silencer I think?
  12. I had an evo a few years ago, at a time when my shooting wasn't good enough to get the best from it, unfortunately. As I recall though, it got on really well with accupell/crossman premiers, so it might be worth trying them out mate. They are nice rifles, they can be a bit hard on scopes if you don't use a damper mount so be warned! Hope this helps, wurz
  13. Thanks darryl, nice to se a thread that hasn't turned into a slagging match lol
  14. The full length was bloody accurate though frank, to be honest I only changed it in order to kill the muzzle flip that it had. Does look better now though and luckily its deadly accurate. Going out on the rabbits in the morning with it so we'll see!
  15. I'm not bringing it with next weekend mate, I've promised her a shooting free couple of days (although she'll be asleep with the rest during davy's speech so she'd never know....) Can't do friday night cos I'm working all day unfortunately. But my folks are back in south glos now so we'll tie in a visit with a sunday morning session if you lads are up for it? Cheers, see ya next week, wurz
  16. you could always ask roger? what? have you seen how much he charges for pens? imagine the price of a stock...(just kidding rog lol) cheers si, we'll have to get together for a shoot again soon, see what you two think cheers, wurz
  17. If I had the spare cash I would frank, although I think it'd be a tad front heavy with the 98 barrel. It'd be nice in a hardwood though!
  18. Nice one steve, hope you have a blast there mate.. You allowed guests then?! Cheers, wurz
  19. Let is know how you get on mate, I've read about folks using them but have never actually seen them in action. Incidentally, I've seen them going for under 20 notes in pet shops before so if it does work theres no need to get ripped off ;-) Cheers, wurz
