  7. Nice job Si Quick question though.... How dis you manage to get the twink o past the buddy bottle?? Is the barrel mounted higher than the S10?? Darryl
  8. Nothing better to see than a happy farmer especially when he recommends you to his "farmer buddies" Darryl
  9. Awesome shooting. Hopefully me n wor kid will have photos of a similar nature this weekend when we visit the new permission I have the Yukon Sentinel 2.5x50 with Yukon 100mW add on IR and its an awesome bit of kit for the cost. Im on the lookout for a doubler for it if anyone spots one for sale too Darryl
  10. This is something to read about declining numbers of rabbits on your shoot Darryl. I first though that I was getting unwelcome attention from poachers and other trespassers taking the warrens in large numbers but, I'm not so sure of this now. Especially after reading of your findings here. The rabbits are really very wary and aware here on my permission, from such numbers that I've actually seen and had a shot or two at. Simon Hard to explain Simon! One theory we have is that the farm next door to our permission used to be a pig farm but the farmer has now switched to chickens
  11. Good to hear mate If there's anything else you're unsure of or need to know just stick a post up and I'm site someone will be along to help. Darryl
  12. Cheers for the replies!! Hopefully we'll be paying our first visit on Friday night so watch this space Darryl
  13. Interesting info there Mark. Could explain a lot for a lot of people. I think head position and rifle cant has also a lot to do with it Jasp. Trying to ensure your head is in more or less the same position when looking through the scope hence the invention of the accucover i think Darryl
  14. There's plenty of dedicated NV scopes about for decent money mate. I sold my old one for £300 which seems to be the average price fir a secondhand dedicated NV scope. Have a look in the for sale section on here or the BBS or pigeon watch and you're more likely to find one to suit your needs Darryl
  15. Both wor kid and myself shoot all year round, even in " extreme" weather as you will find if you do a search. A lot of places this year have suffered with the numbers including ours. Last year we were producing double figures nearly every shoot, this year there's a dramatic decline on our permissions the same as a lot of people have been talking about so we've really had nothing to post about. There's no HFT facilities really local to us so rather than post we were out plinking we choose not to clog up the forums. Darryl
  16. Top notch gear there Rob, definitely a must have knife for guys on here! Darryl
  17. As previously said by all, headshots all the way. If you train yourself to get a ten shot group inside a 1" circle on paper at your chosen zero range then headshots wont be a problem for ANY quarry. If you can't get them in keep practicing till you do and I'd advise against shooting at ANYTHING living until you can. You'll be more satisfied with yourself when you can claim a clean kill than wounding and not being able to find it or it flies/runs off to suffer. Darryl Happy hunting
  18. Can't wait toll the meet now. Looks like you guys had an awesome day!! Top photos by Laura too, I'll have to remember to pack my camera too Darryl
  19. Funny how the others dont seem phased by the chase or presence of the stoat..... wouldnt mind that as a permission though..... Nice shooting again too mate!1 Darryl
  20. look a nice bit of kit and you obviously know what you are looking for, being after one for a while.... looking forward to the end results Darryl
