  3. cheers Simon.... appreciated mate! Darryl
  4. Have a look at the thread I've written today mate.... http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/203932-buying-your-first-air-rifle/ Darryl
  5. All great rifles but I'd go for the HW 100.... I'm biased though....Ive got 2 already.....lol Darryl
  6. How do guys n gals! Well after reading far too many subjects lately about "Which gun should I buy", "What pellets should I use" topics I thought I'd make this topic up for your perusal. It may seem a little long winded but hopefully it contains what I would anticipate as the necessary basic information into buying or owning an air rifle & hopefully it will shed a bit of light onto the subject. The following information is designed to help those of you who are new or returning to air rifle shooting. The first thing you will need to do before looking at purchasing any shootin
  7. Got mine in a Police approved gun cabinet bolted to the wall inside a lockable cupboard. Good luck with your project! Darryl
  8. Yes mate ,they do , to mistake a leverett for a rabbit is easy to do, even in the day, but to have a dead rabbit in front of you, and believe it to be a hare, shows a complete lack of knowledge of two of the most abundant creatures in britain. YAAAAAWWWWNNNN!!!
  9. Dont you think this thread is getting a bit long in the tooth now then??? :hmm:
  10. Ideal. Just let me know when it's convenient.... I take it you still have my number??
  11. Nice one mate..... Like a kid with a new toy eh!!! Pleased ya happy with it mate! Darryl
  12. Hi Lew Welcome to the world of airgunning. Well done on taking a sensible approach and learning about it instead of doing what " most " others would do and just jump in blind. As previously said if you do your bit abiding by the law with preventative measures etc then you should have no problems. Just out of curiosity what aspect of airgunning are you interested in??..... Targets, hunting?? The guys in here including myself are all full of sound advice so I'm sure we'll try and help where we can with whatever you need help with I look forward to seeing more about your prog
  13. You want your money back PLUS the cost of postage to send it back. You should be in no way out of pocket by ANY means!! Darryl
  14. Well done Carl ..... Now that getting the forum back to the way it should be. Just as a thrown in I would have recommended Richter Optiks. Budget scopes with great build and optic quality Darryl
  15. Top man Mark.... Very nice of you mate!! Darryl
  16. With the buddy bottles as in the above post if the pressure drops to -90bar then there is insufficient pressure to keep the valve closed. Once filled you shouldn't have any problems. Just be careful of contamination when it's like that ie stopping the valve fully closing Also what Bill said, give the bottle a 1/2 turn and cock and fire the rifle a few times till the pressure drops before removing the bottle Darryl
  17. Didn't know that...... I've gutted and ate loads myself like that as well as feeding the meat to the fezzers and both myself and they are fine.....I just threw the internal organs away. I knew its a disease caught when they're near sheep for the little I've read about it but hey ho..... Wonder if that's why I went bald???...... Lol Darryl P.s. I'm not saying it's safe to eat it, just that I have eaten it. Lol
  18. Chill out guys..... Like I said before..... Rabbit....Hare.... Who cares as long it was taken cleanly and humanely. As for the shooting of a Hare with an Air rifle before anyone mentions it.... It's frowned upon by some yes but totally legal in season! We all have our own hobbies and views on things and at the end of the day it gets dark!!! End of discussion!! Darryl
  19. In Marks defence mate we tend to get it in thus section from time to time with "the doggers" popping in having a go at winding people up so they all seem to get tarred with the same brush. Take it from me mate. Wor kid doesn't need helping out with recognition. We've both been hunting since a young age and know the difference and he's also a pest controller by trade. Although I wasn't there this time I can vouch for him 100%. But as Mark said telling the difference between a flattened down rabbit and Hare through NV is nigh on impossible. If it was in fact a rabbit then I hope they're al
  20. What does it matter if it's a hare or rabbit. He shot it cleanly, job done!! Darryl
  21. It's a weaver rail adaptor mate. The sentinel comes with a weaver mount fitting and it won't sit on the dovetail properly and give a correct line of sight hence you need the weaver/dovetail adaptor Darryl
  22. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/202763-even-further-onto-the-dark-side/
  23. Give Adi at A & M Custom Gunsmiths a ring mate.... Tell him Darryl told you to call He's done all my work on both my old BSA S10 & HW100 Very good guy to talk to and deal with Here's his details.... http://www.amcustomgunsmiths.com/contact.html Darryl
  24. Not bothered about it getting wet mate....just detest sideways rain! I put up with it for years in the forces cos I "had to".....now I dont have to so I dont bother. However its always the case...... if me n wor kid plan something we always get cut short or something happens, if either one of us drops out it's always near on perfect..... lol I definately think he's gonna love that NV though...... and what a good person I am for selling him it...CHEAP!!... Family eh!! Darryl
  25. Nice shooting mate! Bloody typical though..... Where I was 10 miles away it was pissing down and blowing a gale.... the windmills could hardly keep up so I headed off home and cracked a couple of tinnies open. Then I got a text off wor kid saying it was all clear....... This is where it gets interesting for future shoots...... we've both now got the same rifles and NV units.... Darryl
