  7. Why not, I consider myself a half decent shot and van certsinly hold my own as has been witnessed by a lot of members on here! Had you quoted it properly I also included other people and other well respected shooters of which I can name names if you want Darryl
  8. We're you on happy pills when you wrote this. Lol What makes you say that?
  9. Great write up mate, he was still grinning on Sunday when I seen him! Darryl
  10. Always a great day mate as its what you make of it. Definitely up for some shooting in the summer too mate, let me know when you want to come up again and I'll make sure I'm there Darryl
  11. Good stuff lads! Has Steve joined the SAS or something or is he just camera shy??.... Darryl
  12. In with Ghillies on this one mate, to me a rifle is a tool no matter how much it cost, the Panther is a very robust rifle and I've used it for both hunting and target shooting and it does both very well Darryl
  13. ANY experience with ANY rifle is good experience in my eyes mate. This way you can learn to naturally hold the rifle, control your breathing, aiming, shot release and followthrough with the basic of rifles that isnt going to cost the earth in ammunition. This way when you finallt tranduce into a full bore rifle, the same principles applyt and will make you a better shooter Darryl
  14. Firstly, welcome to the site! Its good you got yourself a budget, the best advice I can give is get yourself down to your local gun shop and shoulder some rifles and see what feels comfortable. Its all well and good that we tell you what to buy but if it doesnt "fit" you and you dont feel comfortable with it then you'll only be disappointed! Darryl
  15. Bisley Mags in a BSA for a heavyweight pellet, for some reason the barrels just seem to love them! Darryl
  16. Whiteout on the MTC range is when your eye relief is wrong mate, done a load of them at the local range with people complaining of the same thing, moved the scope and all was sorted. As for a scope it all depends on your budget mate, any of the MTC range or the mid price range Hawke are more than adequate for the job Darryl
  17. you know what we really need??? Is for all you lot to move "Oop North" and start our own...... That way I might be able to join in a lot more  Darryl
  18. At the end of the day it yet again all boils down to personal choice! I personally love shooting a spring rifle, Ive been using them since the age of 8 when I didnt know PCP's existed. It takes some skill & thought to shoot a spring rifle compared to a PCP and its been proven 100's of times that if you put the time and effort into ANYTHING then the dividends will pay off no matter what it is. ANYONE can be as good a shot as Si, Davy or myself or anyone else that people hold in high regard by simply putting in the practice and doing your homework. It doesnt come overnight! One more
  19. Every good shooter MUST have a springer in their collection mate, you know it makes sense Darryl
  20. Ive got one and love it mate, my main target rifle Decision depends on your attachment to your other rifles Darryl
