  1. hello mate, I bought a hw77 about four years ago with similar problems so I bought a birchwood casey blueing kit and redid the whole gun, it takes a good couple of days to do, because I wanted to take my time and do a good job of it. I still own the gun today and the blueing is as good as the first day I did it. The overall finish is a bit lighter than the original blueing that was on it when the gun was new though. Or if you decide that you don't want to do it yourself the you can send your gun of and get a professional to do it for you but this will cost considerably more I would have th
  2. Found that post very useful cheers buddy.
  3. Hi mate, Nice one on your rabbit. Always nice when you get one straight away, it feels like the pressure is off a bit. I have always been more inclined to go for a head shot when hunting rabbits I find that it is a very quick and effective way of killing them, and you don't damage the meat. ATB Si

  10. hello mate Quite often they are found in the hedge rows, wooded areas or embankments or even just big piles of earth. I have even got them trying to dig under the barns and into the canal bank on one of my permissions . Well worth exploring every where can be very useful having a good knowledge of your permission especially when you are planning your route around so you can find the best way to stalk up onto your hotspots. 14. Farmers do tend to be very straight to the point. Sometimes though you can just get the timing all wrong and catch the farmer when he is busy and doesn't have time to properly consider what your asking. So well worth leaving your details just incase something comes up in the future, or they could pass your number on to someone else.
  15. Unfortunately I have not got a copy of this letter saved on my computer and don't have access to a scanner. But I got the letter of this site in the first place then just tweaked it a bit to make it a bit more personal. Sorry I couldn't be any more helpful.
  16. Hello mate, I personally wrote a detailed letter explaining who I was and what I can offer the land owner in exchange for being allowed to shoot on there land eg, an extra pair of hands on the farm if needed and an extra pair of eyes when walking the land checking the cattle and fences are ok, and put all my contact details on there then printed ten copies off. I Then went on google earth and had a look at some farms close to where I live and went around to them. I simply knocked on the farmers door, introduced myself and explained briefly what I was doing there and asked them if they if t

Sound advice might be worth getting some insurance if you have not already got some, just helps to send the right impression. Hopefully you will never need to use it, but good peace of mind just in case. ATB Si
