  1. Well done. Can't get rid of enough of these, as far as I'm concerned! Cheers Sib
  2. Just finished watching my copy, which arrived this morning. This is by far the most professionally edited of the set and the sections are all informative. I shall now be recalibrating the AO on my Weihrauch 100KT and rimfire scopes now that I have seen Si do it. The properly conducted sound tests of the moderators were very good and the Twink Mk2 certainly looks excellent. I may have to talk to Davy about one for my AA 410TDR (which is very noisy compared to my Weihrauch) I think the way this has been broken up into bite sized sections makes it very watchable. As commented above,
  3. Indeed - I've just added to my "Si Pittaway Boxset" Cheers Sib
  4. Yes - you're correct. They are full choke. I have the Hushpower baikal s/b and I've been disaapointed with the noise given off by the 3" Eley cartridges - quite a crack. I've been told that they labelled a massive batch incorrectly and my local dealer swapped a box for the supposedly quieter ones. However, I cannot detect much difference. Apparently the 2 1/2" Express cartridges are quieter. I hops so as I bought the gun to use around horse paddocks. Cheers Sib
  5. Well done Si. Good luck with it. I reckon you can give it a couple of years for you to get known in the magazines, then you'll be publishing a book! Cheers Sib
  6. Nice shot. You will love this gun more and more as you get used to it and be comfortable extending your range. It really is a silent assassin. Cheers Sib
  7. If the dog is from good working stock then I would have it any day over a KC registered dog that didn't work. KC have a lot to answer for with certain breeds and I'm convinced line breeding has led to worse problems than there would have been otherwise. The only downside I guess is if you want to breed and sell on. Others who are less enlightened might require KC papers before buying. Cheers Sib
  8. Don't sell your HW100. You wil regret it! Cheers Sib
  9. Sensible conclusion. Stick with what you're happy with and save your dosh. I'm certainly back with my Eley subs. Cheers Sib
  10. Hope it's all back as before Tony. I've just done the same with my Beretta o/u shotgun. Obviously didn't wipe it down last time and found some rust sroung the breech. Interesting tip about the ally foil. Thanks Sib
  11. wor kid got 1 for his hw 100 from adi and wow what a difference the new 1 is not even half the weight of the standard and extra shots result !!! atb gary gary, Do you know what the shot count goes up to in .22,with the new cylinder? Cheers Sib
  12. Have you been eating those mushrooms again, Si?? Sib
  13. Those poor. poor guns. I hope they got dried down and tucked up safely? Cheers Sib
  14. Good shooting. 3 less of those 'orrible creatures! Sib
  15. Nice shooting and some cracking photographs. Sib
  16. I have thought about this many times over the years, but do not think the expense of a FAC air rifle can be justified. You are probably extending the range of a good quality air rifle by 20 yds. To be honest I still feel I am better off with a sub 12ft/lb rifle and a rimfire. The rimmie is accurate to about yds consistently with a degree of holdover. I know I can knock down rabbits at 45 yds consistently with my HW100, so anything over that I leave or wait until I have the rimfire. The only thing is that I will not shoot upwards with the rimfire, so roosting pigeons/magpies are off the age
  17. I bought a batch for my CZ452 and they were nowhere near as consistent/accurate/quiet as the Eley subs that I normally use. Also I'm not convinced that the ricochets are any better/less dangerous. I think that someone like Gunmart or Sporting gun did a test on them and were not overly impressed. Cheers Sib
  18. Crikey - how long is a piece of string? What will you be using it for? If hunting, what sort of distance are you expecting to shoot over and what magnification are you comfortable with? The mainstay of air rifle scopes has for year been the 3-9 X 40 scope which will do the job pretty well. If you want to upgrade from that you can get bigger magnification ranges and objective lenses, that allow more light in. That being said, I believe that most shots set a magnification and leave it at that. On my rimfire I actually have a fixed 6 X 56 scope which I am perfectly happy with, but my air
  19. Nice looking combo Shay. Looking forward to a few more write ups as you use the R10 more and more. Zini certainly thinks highly of his. Sib
  20. Si, Don't listen to the twats who whinge. You get them in all walks of life and if you give in to them it makes them think they're stronger/more powerful. Your reviews and advice have lifted this forum way above any other and I, for one, look forward to all of your contributions. Added to that, you have helped new/young shots with your advice. As Darryl so succinctly put it - f*ck them. Keep on with the reviews etc. All the best Sib
  21. You will luuurve the HW100. Good shooting. Sib
  22. Well done for your perseverance, Steve. They sound like a lovely lot. Probably be selling dodgy cars or timeshare next week. Sib
