  1. If you like the Daystate, don't rule out a 2nd hand one. I bet you they've all been looked after well enough!! I've had a go with one and it blew me away. Its easily twice the gun that something like a Rapid 7 is but not exactly twice the price.
  2. everytime i see that gun on here I'm going to keep popping up and saying how much I like the look of it! :clapping:
  3. He had enough and quit the site after getting sh*t from someones mum for inviting the lad out shooting. A shame as he seemed a decent guy. I think i remember reading that post.... didn't he insist to the lad that he's have to speak to the lads parent before doing anything?
  4. I own one. Not at all tricky to reload, just different from other guns. You only skip pellets if you recock in the wrong sequence Plenty of shots per charge (40 in mine in 0.22) Easy to recharge with a pump (allow 5 strokes to prime plus 1 stroke per shot) The gun looks stunning and definetly merits a trial. deadly accurate too. The gun will happily punch single hole groups at 30 yards if you can aim that well (i can only do that when resting the gun and myself on a bench)
  5. I'm joining the fanbase for that gun, it looks awesome and seems to perform wonders
  6. Option 1 I shoot the leaves of a tree infront of a large barn. its good when there's a small breeze and you have to time it perfect to wait for the leaf to "present itself" for the shot/ You can see the hole your pellet makes really clearly afterwards Option 2 I can't resist buying "6 lighters for a pound" every now and again at a market. they explode when you hit 'em
  7. I owned countless catapults/slingshots and BB guns before being old enough to apply for a gun licence (Northern Ireland) when I got a BSA Airporter which I still have and use.
  8. I own both and my advice would be this..... If you can't make up your mind which to have, then get a springer. Fuss free functionality and no huge difference in performance (yes, I know people will disagree with the last bit there, but no-one will disagree with the fact that a good man will kill more with a springer than an eejit with a PCP). Here's my summary on different areas; Accuracy - PCP more accurate mainly due to lack of recoil. At 30 yards I can group 5 pellets on a PCP to about 0.5" group, with a springer its a shade under 1" (lets face it, that doesn't matter a dot when
  9. I don't think this is the prob as his gauge would be going up to +200 Bar if air wasn't going in the gun
  10. So do you litterally knock on farmers doors and ask? what do you say? luckily theres lots of farms in the midlands. Don't knock on my farmers door! put yourself in their position, you have to prove you'll be a worthy addition to their farm
  11. Hey Furdy, This is the tool to use instead of a left threaded screw its a stud extractor, kind like a mixture between a tap and a reamer with left handed flutes.... but absolutely useless if the stud is ceased (you end up with a broken stud extractor jammed in the unremovable stud!!)
  12. nice shooting. I love the look of that Falcon
  13. Theres a For Sale section on here. The Wanted Ad is probably the best bet, but I suspect that most people on here will have decent old springers hidden away and would rather keep them than sell them for £100 (which is a reasonable price for a second hand springer)
  14. You'll be fine with the fish if there are trout there. trout won't live anywhere with pollution nice place
  15. Hey Michael, That was the problem I had with the gun. The other issue was that unless you firmly pressed the barrel back into position after each reload, it was really unpredictable on accuracy. Don't get me wrong, it was a great gun for shooting pigeons 20 yards away. but I wouldn't dare shoot a rabbit at 35 yards.
  16. Don't do it. I had a shadow sport 1000 for a month or two and didn't like it at all. Spend the money on a better second hant gun
  17. My mate has a Rapid 12, and I thought it was absolutely awesome.....until...... I had a go on a Daystate Mk3... wow!! I think you'll struggle to get one for £600, but if you're lucky enough and cheeky enough there could be one out there. Definitely give this gun a go before you buy anything
  18. Hi Mate, To be putting a couple of pellets dead centre, followed by one thats 2 inches off, I don't think the type of pellet is the issue here. Unless.... your pellets have been damaged? Some pellets, especially the Air Arms Diablos have a very thin skirt... if this gets damaged the pellet will be inacurate. Try a few with hand picked pellets (roll them on a piece of card with a little slope, they should roll easily)
  19. I would say there are probably only about 3 or 4 different types of pellets that i would ever buy again. If I buy another gun I'll try and make it work with those pellets first without even wanting to try anything else. Rather than start a debate (because everyone has their favourites) I've had a look on the pellpax list and my favourites are all in there. Yes, you should be putting 5 pellets in a half inch group at 25 yards. Also, don't worry about pellet shapes, just use domed heads for hunting.
  20. Hi Soapy, Scope received this morning, many thanks. Went to the Warwickshire Game Fair today and was itching to get home and have a play with it...... Got it fitted to the Ultra Multishot, zeroed it in about 10 shots, went out to the fields and promptly shot a rabbit! John
  21. Holy s**t, I bet the rabbits are mostly dying of heart attacks! Thanks a bad-ass set up..... I love it! PS, whats the little one on top of the lamp?
  22. Hi Mike, Welcome to the forum! Its obviously hard to know without seeing the gun, but I think realistically you'll be in the £150 to £175 price bracket for excellent condition, knock off £10-£20 for every flaw Hope this helps, John
  23. In that case I'd keep it as original as possible, if you feel the urge to do something with it (as we all do from time to time!) then just give it the tlc and restore it to original condition
  24. That scope looks huge on it! is it ok to aim or do you have to hold your head back a bit? I'm not convinced about the validity of a silencer on a springer.... yes you do elimiate some of the muzzle crack, but there's still plenty of mechanical noise in the gun to scare off rabbit #2 Oh, nice gun by the way!
