  1. All makers have their own choke spec for the bore, to benefit themselves by the owner of their product feeding their correct fitting ammo, if the pellet is to tight or to loose it will disturb the guns optimum output in power & accuracy, but like Aron said a good quality domed pellet will serve well like AAs Diablo, Accupells, the Korean pellets dress very well in the Airarms as the skirt seats well in the breech, or you could resize your own if you have time to kill. foxon.
  2. I can see where your comeing from. foxon.
  3. Your Rapid MFR should run @ 27ftlbs factory set in .22, if you have the .20 @ 24ftlbs factory set, .177 @ 19.8ftlbs & .25 @ 28.5ftlbs, depending on your choice of pellet & the power curve on your fill pressure plus ambient air temp you can + or - 2ftlbs. Without seeing the rifle the main cause for loss of power is weak hammer strike on the main valve, or port obstruction, find a good Gunsmith as your MFR will run happily at +30ftlbs on heavy pellets like Dae Sung @ 28 grain or Eley Magnum @ 30 grain, they are very easy to adjust power up or down on Theobens. foxon. GAS RAM

If you want a Gas Strut converion kit for your BSA Lightning I can supply & fit or go direct to Theoben on 01487 740744 or email sales@theoben.co.uk or www.theoben.co.uk or you could pop into the factory shop in West Newlands Somersham Cambridgeshire PE28 3EB, retail on these units are still low priced @£66.15 or FAC rated @ £71.00. They have a good sellection to fit the BSA Webley HWs Beeman Gamo etc. foxon.
  5. If this helps I can do a box of 200 tins @ 15% discount llike AAs DStates Milbro Eley AGS etc. but posting would defeat the object, my workshop is in Cornwall Westcountry. foxon.
  6. Brocock made a good come back with the Enigma, designed on the smg shape with TD & cracking pistol grip, faultless rotary mag indexing, they shoot very well albeit a little on the heavy side but once you master it's weight you will be thumb nailing @ 40 yards, this rifle is very tuneable, with a near match trigger & a choice of hardwood or resin furniture. I prefer the Enigma build quality to that of the T10. foxon.
  7. To take a clean kill at 60 yards or to stalk your prey at 15 yards are both a test of skill & good Marksmanship. foxon

  9. This is a great method, I have machined nylon stock bar & used shell wad both had the same desired effect. foxon.
  10. Sean seems to think there could be a problem, if you lived closer I would fit it for you foc as I am a service agent for Theoben, with good parts backup & the HE pump & adapters. email me if you need help but I am sure you will be ok. foxon.
  11. i think i amgetting standard lightning gas ram fitted . are you sure? i thought the only difference betwen the xl and standard was the fancy chequerd stock. the internals are the same a mate of mine has a xl in his gun & it fires at 8lb. the reson i was giving by donny c on here was that its xl ram in a standard lighting becouse there isnt as much psi in the xl ram pm him he will know more than me mate. The Gas Ram is the power plant what ever gun you fit it in, it is up to you to fill the Gas Ram via the HE pump to get the correct power output, if you overfill you will not be abl
  12. Have you done a chrono check to make sure you have a steady ftlbs, if so & there are no large peaks & troughs you might have a barrel fault such as untrue barrel, rifling damage or damage at the muzzle crown, the only user fault I can think of is distorting pellets during loading, as for the scope go for point of aim with the rifle in a fixed position ie clamped to check for scope or user error. If silencer fitted remove & check for damage, test with silencer off. foxon.
  13. Have done quite a few of these, if it is the Raider they have an anti tamper shear bolt through the top of the bolt carrier into the hammer body assembly they can only be removed with drilling & the use of an easy out, not an easy job for the DIY person, once inside the rifle the usual problem is the main valve body, with time they wear on the seating collar, so need replacing, if you can here air escaping through the barrel you will know it's the main valve body at fault, allowing air to escape through the transfer port without the valve being knocked open by the hammer, I would advise yo
  14. Have worked on AGS PCR1s for quite some time now as a main service agent & in all honesty I have found the rifle very realiable & value for money, I call these the Farmers Son's gun as they are cheap & rugged, out of 42 only 4 had major faults due to missuse. They are easy to work on & AGS/Webley have good stock of parts, but like anything that comes from Eastern Block factories don't expect back what you paid for it. foxon.
  15. The best new single shot pcp rifle has to be the Benjamin Discovery, superb hardwood stock & finish, ulta light weight, well machined action & breech, the cocking bolt locks superbly into breech face, barrel is ideal length for long shots, the Americans run these at 25ftlbs for Turkey shoots, but the British model runs at 11.16 ftlbs +-, make a great Field Hunter you could carry these for hours & not feel the strain. Can be found in some RFDs for as little as £275 new + they run on dual fuel. foxon.
  16. Best single shot Pro Hunter with large reservoir & full power has to be the Logun Gemini or Axsor, built to a very high standard in Sweden with proven technology & realiability, superb bolt & barrel, unbeatable accuracy to 50 yards in it's price range, can be found S/H £400 ish. foxon.
  17. It is screwed onto the bottom of the bottle it was good while it worked no need to screw off bottle to fill. there is no seal to replace the valve is a one way valve but it is letting air back out i guess valve is done, You will find the one way valve has debris or damaged seal stopping the airtight seal, remove & clean out, otherwise fill to max with divers bottle this might cure the fact there is not enough back pressure to lock the valve tight. foxon.
  18. The main maker of the Gas Ram system is Theoben of GB, this system finds it's way into many good quality rifles like BSA & HW, if the system is kept clean with correct non mineral lube it will remain leak free & realiable, the system can be adjusted with the HE pump to maintain power levels for your discipline ie paper punching or live target, the action of the Gas Ram is a lot quieter than the spring, they are very easy to strip & maintain if you do not like removing a compressed main spring from a springer, Gas Rams can be degassed by knocking the valve open with a punch removin
  19. Pellpax have been in the Firearms business a number of years & have found them very realiable, as with Daystate you have a strong after sales service from their inhouse service & repair team, I had worked for Daystates as a Gunsmith many years ago on sub contract, I found a lot of repairs were never charged to the Customer as Daystate took great pride in Customer care. Atb, foxon.
  20. You took the words out of my mouth, the Lightening XL makes for a great Custom gun (Tuner) a fantastic hard hitter, with the rifleing to take the faster pellet, you can make these sec 1 before you know it, be mindfull of this & the same with HW & 90 range you can put these over with very little work. foxon.
  21. Here is what £200 will get you in good quality hard hitting springers not shy of knocking a buck rabbit over. Top, HW80K Heavy break barrel springer hardwood stock good quality record trigger @ 11.20ftlbs. Kral under lever springer anti beartrap resin stock quality built Turkish arm @ 11.06 ftlbs. Remmington Genesis break barrel springer resin stock built in USA well made @ 11.09 ftlbs. Cometa Fenix 400 break barrel springer hardwood stock as good as the HWs best Spanish built air rifle @ 11.26 ftlbs Hope this helps. Atb, Foxon.
  22. If the Police feel you were involved in an illegal activity like Badger digging they need proof, but when the the Police are looking into one they normaly find another your air rifle, when they seized your air rifle did they also take the pellets that you use in it, as this can help if they keep the rifle under 12ftlb, as the Police normaly test fire 5 different types of pellet for chronograph from their own stock + the pellets they would seize. Rule of thumb always check your rifle with a Chrono, they can be bought for as little as £30 from Gunmart ads or your local RFD, it will give you pea
  23. This has to be one of the best pre chargers I have ever used, the Daystate Merlyn X2, superb 10 shot rotary mag, Hawke 3x9x44 wa Scope, Carbon Fibre Silencer that eats raport, thumb nail accuracy at 60 yards, ideal HFT, the trigger has a beautiful pull that feels pro, a must have for the long distance Hunter, only fired a tin of Daystates from new, cw fill adapter. In Cornwall but will post for free to your door or F/F. £645 no offers or deals.
  24. surplus to requirements She's got to go £475 & she's like new. nice looking gun... Many thanks Essexjed, they are rather nice. Atb, foxon.
