  1. On a mission, forgot to show the TDR next to the Ratcatcher to show size, note the TDR is a take down rifle legal to own without license if kept sub 12ftlbs, they will operate with barrel removed this does not make it a pistol, as it was for purpose built as a Take Down Rifle or TDR, I have a few others that break down into 3 & 4 parts but the griffon breaks into 2. Hope this will put some light on is it a Rifle or is it a Pistol, I think we all can work it out now. Atb, foxon.
  2. Don't forget those of us that like to run Carbines with 9" bbl & sub 12ftlb does not make the rifle ilegal or make it a pistol. This is our sport & we must protect it, look at the bbl length on the Ultra or the Cometa Fenix Carbine, I built a rifle with Walther 4" bbl & 3" aircan Silencer, it did not make it a pistol, a pistol is a handgun that can be carried covertly & operated with one hand, there is a big difference when a fixed stock is in place the whole balance is wrong, they have to be shouldered unless your John Waine & not easy to conceal, unless it's a TDR & t

Some say it is not very sporting to bait birds, I know the RSPB frown upon this sought of thing, but then it is quite legal to get them in a larsen & you know what happens next. Atb, foxon.

that has got to be a record number, your trigger finger must have been sore, I thought my 35 was high as a lot of the controllers here try to beat it, I will now go off & find another day job sob cry throw my toys etc, just out of interest I see you were shooting them out of trees but were there crops near by that got them gathering or humans leaving food scraps like a picnic area, either way you are the Top Man come down here & work for me. Not so good haveing clever Mags, I went out on the Fox as there is abundance of them & the skies opened took cover under a disused milking shed & sure enough Magpies counted 6 shot 2 would gone for more but the wind is pushing rain into my scope like Niagra falls, slipped arse over tit makeing my way back over bank to write this, no damage to the rifle but a soggy leg & bum, I will hopefully get out & lamp fox tonight if weather changes, but it is amazeing how well Magpie light up in the lamp not that I shoot them of course. You need to come down & shoot some Cornish Magpie, they will sit at the end of your muzzle. Weathers dried up hear & I am out on the Fox, but I bet I will bag a few Mags on the way. If your Magpies get spooked easily find an area they like bait it with table scraps or a live one you caught earlier & lay n wait, there getting brave, as for all carreon at the moment. Atb, foxon.

Lee I think your on the money, I have never seen so many, I know the cost of SG shells have gone up & there are less shots going off in my area, but the increase is very noticeable I doubt global warming has anything to do with it, or could they be like in Alfred Hitchcocks The Birds, lets take cover I,m under gunned. Keep hitting em hard. Atb, foxon.

Hi lee, we are upto our necks in Magpie & jackdaw in North Cornwall & every where else I should imagine, weather is poor here today but if it dries up later they will be out feeding hard, we normaly go out in groups & hit certain farms hard, for everyone I hit I'm sure 2 take it's place, many years ago I would have to use the Larsen to bring them in, but now there in such numbers they show no fear, the Government need to pick a Sunday in a month where all gun owners go out & hit the Magpies for day to bring the numbers down same with the Jackdaw, there is far too many of them &
  11. I am a Mechanic by trade & this is not an easy job as this is the 16v engine, as a guess you would not get change from £300, a good days work involved, as for mpg they are quite a heavy vehicle & road use I would get 23 mpg on motorway upto 29 mpg. but don't be put off she is a superb vehicle & with a little work will make a fantastic utility 4x4. I now work as a humane dispatcher (knackerman) & she will go any where, it is the only 4x4 I know that you can change into 4 wheel under 60mph at the flick of a switch, has free wheel as well. Glynn. She is now listed on ebay

Shot 15 Magpies last night over a store shed for one of the local dairy farms I contract to, during 1900 to 2015 hrs took a couple of Pigeon & 3 Jackdaws at the same time, they cause a real nuisance around the feed hoppers. Most Magpies I have shot was over fresh cut hay summer of 2006 35 in the bag useing a Daystate LR90 single shot with mod HAWKE 3x9x50 WA & Bipod. I earnt me money on that occasion. Foxon.
  14. If the Police feel you were involved in an illegal activity like Badger digging they need proof, but when the the Police are looking into one they normaly find another your air rifle, when they seized your air rifle did they also take the pellets that you use in it, as this can help if they keep the rifle under 12ftlb, as the Police normaly test fire 5 different types of pellet for chronograph from their own stock + the pellets they would seize. Rule of thumb always check your rifle with a Chrono, they can be bought for as little as £30 from Gunmart ads or your local RFD, it will give you pea
  15. Hi welcome to the world of shotguns, I see you like the goose, I would go for a nice over & under (O/U) with multi chokes for the high birds (MC) with ejector to get those spent shells out in a hurry (EJ) with single selective trigger (SST) this will allow you to select the top or bottom barrel allowing you the choke you want & the shot sizes you are useing in either barrel, this will enable to go from goose to rabbit say at the flick of the thumb, saves on reloading & waisting decent large shot, get one that is three inch Magnum in the 12g & you won't feel under gunned on thos
  16. Hi I am real sorry to see the wrong that has been done by an ignorant member of our fine constabulary, the Rat catcher by Crosman is deemed an air rifle for purpose it has a fixed stock that cannot be removed by hand without tools ie no quick release system, this weapon on a good day will not give more than 9ftlb of muzzle energy without substancial alteration to the main valve & air supply & as you know the legal limit for air rifle not on Sec 1 is 12ftlb, please contact Anne Hubbard at BASC she has great knowledge on these matters & become a member, the Police will think twice i

  18. It is legal to post sub 12ftlb rifles & sub 6ftlb pistols through the post so long as the sale is not by trade ie a private transaction, as for the carrier Parcel Force will not carry any Firearms where as the Royal Mail are duty bound to carry air rifles & air pistols so long as they are not Sec 1 ie not over the limit. Hope this helps. Atb Foxon. Just thought I should add, to get an air rifle through the Post Office side of parcels you will need to take the stock off & place along side the barrel & action to keep the length down otherwise the nice people on the count
