  1. Looks like you got a Bargain there.
  2. I will second that Donnyc, OK for the FT boys but dont think about Hunting live prey with these Regs. foxon.
  3. It all depends on the piston material, PTFE will withstand mineral based oils, leather type pistons will like mineral oils, nylon & rubber type pistons need a synthetic oil like silicone grease, those that use all steel in there manufacture ie with steel piston ring should use a heavy mineral based grease. Hope this helps with your BSA SS, but the Gas Ram will be the best avenue for performance & noise reduction, contact Donnyc on here, he is the Guru of Gas Ram & can do you a good deal on one, I have just put one of his AWT Rams in a Customers Lightning & the Customer told me
  4. The brunt of the noise is made up from metalic vibration & the movement of air, the guide will make very little impact on the noise, the guide will stop spring crunch or distortion, as for wear on the spring this will happen with use so adding the washer will not cause any ill effects, adding weight to the piston can cause recoil problems as well as load damage such as spliting. The diagram I sent you has the parts list & in there you will find the spring guide from Chambers, if they do not have one in stock contact BSAs parts department on 0121 772 8543 or www.bsaguns.co.uk as this pa
  5. Webley & Scott Ltd Single Barrel Shotgun, full choke, 2 3/4" proof, 30" barrel, made in the 1950s, this is the nicest one I have ever seen, in as new original condition, not refinished, two owners from new including me, has been in my private collection, doubt 100 shells have been fired through her. £100 F/F or sent to your RFD. foxon.
  6. Hi, Spring guides are great for keeping spring true on compression, washers can put your rifle over the limit, here is a diagram of your Supersport. foxon. http://www.gunspares.co.uk/shopdisplayprod...;cat=Supersport
  7. Have a very nice BSA 20g. foxon. is this a side by side? has it got ejector? and what model. i am v interested.. Hi this is a single barrel ejector made by BSA. foxon.
  8. Have a very nice BSA 20g. foxon.
  9. Hi, No pitting with mirror bright bore, as you said 2 1/2" proof only. foxon.
  10. Superb little Germanic 410 folding S/S, hard to find in this condition, shoots lovely, a well ballanced well engineered shotgun from 1910, a firm favourite with the Poachers in it's day. £150 F/F or sent to your RFD. Location:- Cornwall foxon.
  11. At the age of 5 my Father bought me a Webley Jaguar for Christmas 1969, you can imagine the delight on my face pulling it from under the tree, happy memories, Christmas 1970 I got a Webley pre war pistol, still have both to this day. foxon.
  12. Hi, Good to see some one have a play with a pod & springer, if you want to try & quieten the action, try nylon washers in the piston, so they sit in front of the spring, also place a nylon washer to the rear of the spring at the action, this will absorb some of the spings recoil noise, with the action removed from the stock lay some sticky back foam tape along the stock chanel useing 1" strips, 3 each side of the stock chanel should do, this will absorb a lot of the recoil through the stock & makeing the gun a lot quieter as vibration will not pass through the foam strip like wood
  13. The catch is retained by a roll pin, this has to be punched out with an engineers pin punch. foxon.
  14. Thanks Foxon, I'm still awaiting Wendy to bring all the stuff up for me to make a complete inventory, take pix and put all relevent parts with the appropriate guns. I'm sure there is bound to be a lot more than what I've listed. Interesting you say that about the Sniper, I have one myself and recently tried to sell it at £40, with no interest. Perhaps I should put them in a collectors area? Thanks for the tip They are a nice little rifle and using Geco's I get 30 shots in the tubular mag My sniper is .177 and is running somewhere near the 6ft/lbs (I understand this is what t
  15. Hi Phantom, Sorry to see your friend is no longer with us, he had a nice collection there, looking at most of them they are modern and easy to price, the one that sticks out is the El Gamo ASI Sniper, they have become very sort after with collectors & shooters alike & in good condition should fetch £85 to £100. I hope these items make a good price for the mother & her children. Maybe the members on THL will dig deep in their pockets to buy one of these items knowing the money will go to a well deserved mother & children. Atvb, foxon.

  17. Hi Phantom, That was very kind of you, I know some RFD's have very poor Customer skills, but without Customers they would not be there, as for the SMK 19 I think they are great value for money & easy to work on, they are one gun you can put over the sub without trying, I am very sure John Nash at SMK would be most upset to hear the 19 being rufused a service by an RFD that most proberbly stocks his products... tut tut, maybe he needs to look closer to home with HW70s fresh from service running at rubber band power, gives the trade a bad name. If you do not have any luck locally & you
  18. Hi Phantom, Sorry to see you getting upset, you have done your best, inside the tubes you will find heaps of build up from moisture, grease, rubber & no doubt metal particles, if you want to send it to me I will overhaul, if the tube is tight do not heat, I will check what it needs, but a good RFD near you should service one of these for less than £30, as for cleaning down the internals I use a solvent like Trico, I know others use thiners but Trico leaves no residue. Have a chat with Ernest Hill Ltd at www.airriflepump.com I bet they would love your story seeing that it's on THL, they m
  19. I like all the FX range, a quality Swedish built & well engineered rifle, check out Mark Camoccio's review in the August issue of Gun Mart, I have serviced a couple for a large Estate where both the Game Keepers use these around the buildings, they have proved very realiable & accurate, I am sure they will replace them when there time is up with further FX rifles, they had used AA's prior to FX & they are not looking back. foxon.
  20. Many thanks Sean, It makes perfect sense I had a feeling that it was something along those lines. Just gotta wait for Foxon to come back on and answer the bit about the blue ring thing in the base:) Gow do I get into the cylinder stem of the pump? I tried to remove the bottom of the stem (Brass assembly) but it just seemed to turn and turn and turn so I am assuming that it was not designed to be removed? Also inside the main stem is it the same as a normal type pump ie a cup washer type like a bike pump or the spring piston in a rifle? Thanks again Sean Phantom Hi Phanto
  21. Steve Pope of V-Mach, has designed quality performance parts for many air rifles, from internals like PTFE pistons Top Hats, with external items like his triggers, I like his power lock springs personaly. foxon.
  22. It certainly has gummed up , your spot on there Foxon I've cleaned out the little section that holds the little spring, valve and o'ring. I can't get right inside though I've gently scraped as much crap out as I can using some pipecleaners and rags but think there is still a lot in there. I've also washed the little 'bullet' witht he o-ring on and was suprised to find that it too is brass and now shines bright! The little spring that pushes the 'bullet' closed I thought was going to disintegrate until I cleaned it and its in good condition. Although I cleaned it as much as possible,
  23. As a Gunsmith, I tend to polish the cylinder & piston carrier, as factory finish is ok but mass produced items are not done by hand, so there is room for improvement, as for lubricaton, silicon should be used where plastic, nylon or polymer type piston seals are fitted, metal components like springs should have a heavy type grease, some Gunsmiths I know use Graphite & Lithium based, trigger sears I use a lightweight machine oil, as I find grease picks up a lot of debris from general use in this area, I use a heavy grease on the jaws of a break barrel makeing sure to lube the axis pin &
  24. Hi Phantom, A common problem with Hills, Logun, BSA & Stealth pumps is moisture, the main brass valve with "o" ring gum up & do not seat properly allowing air to back up into the stirrup, a good strip down & overhaul will put your pump back to good working order, those that have the glass beads in place should be washed in detergent & dried, this will help any moisture comeing into the pump to settle in the trap & released on the bleed off, rather than into your pride & joy, another thing to look for is scoreing on the primary, secondary & tirchary shafts of the pum
