  1. Depends. On my own ground I leave them out as crow bait. On the hill, if it's an out of the way spot I leave them where they are or move to a more discreet location nearby. If I'm shooting on someone elses farm I leave them at the house/shed as proof I'm some use!
  2. I'd guess you hadn't enough light to have contrast between the fox and crosshairs and missed him cleanly because of confusion in the scope.
  3. I couldn't stand the twat either John.............Martin How's the hand Martin?
  4. Nah, if I do anything it'll be a part exchange, or sell the Sako and put the funds towards something new.
  5. Todays opinion poll had FF on 8%, have an election and you'll see them an awful lot higher than that, possibly 20% on a good day. People are embarrassed to say they'll vote FF.
  6. Depends which bog you mean, one definitely emits more toxic fumes than t'other That ban was more for raised bogs than the blanket bogs we have here. Though I'd agree with getting rid of sausage machines for commercial selling, I'd love to see the hand tradition using the slane kept alive. Not many do that now, unfortunately our bog expired years ago.
  7. I feel like a change. Currently got a Sako Quad with HMR barrel. Any out of the ordinary choices out there (that are also accurate :pac: ). I know there'll be CZ, Annie, Marlin available. What weight do the Savage Accutriggers break at, are their HMR's good or mediocre? If a heavy barrel (*sighs*) is more accurate, I'm not totally against the idea. Hmm, decisions, decisions.
  8. Hopefully, FG are more pro business than Labour who are the dark horse in regards to those types of taxes IMO, I doubt they're in favour of a lot of the mickey mouse crap that's been passed. Saying that, once a new tax is introduced, politicians are often reluctant to change them. Climate Change Bill should be down the swanny also
  9. Good riddance you utter shower of f*****g wasters!
  10. That's my shooting buddy, trying to get a shot on his camera phone You're the first to spot him so far
  11. Oh yes there is, I never seen them before Neither has my mate who's been doing this craic for the last 18 years
  12. While out rabbit shooting this afternoon we came across this pair. The rifle is unloaded at all times. Unfortunately I had left my regular camera at home, so had to use the mobile phone camera behind the rifle scope, far from ideal.
  13. Daylight, because it's easier to see Only problem is there's feck all foxes about that time!
  14. I'd also suggest you try a pair of Opticrons, and compare them to the others you're looking at, you'll be surprised. Got an 8x42 BGA SE iMagic pair and find them fantastic, I think they were £329 when I bought them.
  15. Scrim net for the rifle, couple of elastic bands, stay still under cover or in shadow and let them settle on bait before shooting (which I never do )
  16. RPG's for all, field artillery for some
  17. RPG's for all, field artillery for some
  18. No worries, I do be rooting for the fox sometimes myself I don't know Gez. Our system over here doesn't require the shooter to know how much land he has, as all FAC's are open here. I mostly shoot locally, so I know who own's what lands and where they are, that's pretty much all I need to know really. I'd say it's in the thousands of acres, but the vast majority of that is pure rough bog and mountain.
  19. That's number 30 I think. Had a lay off with the cold weather and injury, weather fine, injury still present Needless to say I'm not out as much as usual. The rifle is a Remington VL SS in .223, which has been bedded, screw cut and re-crowned. The scope is a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56. Random thought, my feet are fcuking feezing
  20. Still collecting a few bits & bobs, don't have the time at the moment to start the project properly, but I'll get around to it
  21. Can't stand cats, but I really think you should consider breeding that one
