@Bendigo Have you considered hiring McHull as a tutor ?
-
Terrible mate, no man would want to walk a mile in your shoes and I can’t even begin to imagine the strength of will it took just to keep putting one foot in front of the other every day. This thread was never about autism, Bendigo never said that. It was me that mentioned it as an example of how the common misconception that home schooling somehow turns kids into a social cripple just isn’t true, as in if an autistic lad is a well rounded social being then that’s true for everyone…..it’s not home school that will effect someone’s social skills. Bendigo is simply is exploring b

That’s the first thing you’ve been right about in 2 days ! lol

I didn’t know what that was so I just looked it up…..amazing ! lol

He’s more Trabant than Savant ! lol
-
I wouldn’t break out the champagne just yet if I was you ! lol

Ok, can I ask: What is your experience of the British primary and secondary school system and what is your experience of home schooling ? How many meetings have you sat with the OFSTED inspectorate? How many times have you had to take them round a school for the inspection? How many meetings have to sat in with SLT to discuss KS 1, 2, 3 etc How many meetings have you sat in to discuss budgetary requirements and academic requirement for the coming school year ? How many meetings have you sat in for secondary disciplinary cases, where maybe kids are coming form ter

I've just explained the whole thread to one of my sheep and two of my chickens and they all understood perfectly right away !…..just saying ! lol
-
There you go McHull…..context !
-
Why don’t you read Bendigos first post again……
-
No you imbecile, it’s more they found an environment where they are happy and that works for them….thats all this thread is about !
-
I never mentioned autism once in that response, there you go again, adding 2 and 2 together and coming up with 7 ! My personal opinion and I’m sure you’re no different, is that most people want to do all that they can to protect their kids from bad environments and the pricks that dwell in them…..it’s no badge of honour to make them suffer when they don’t have to. Most lads will do everything they can, you would be no different so don’t crack on like you would, it’s just pricks who don’t give things a second thought breeding a generation of other pricks….nothing wrong with keeping yo

…….or you could just do everything in your power to put them in a better situation so they don’t have to deal with gonks ?

Horsetail ( Equisetum arvense), or mare's tail, is a silica-rich plant historically used in herbal medicine to strengthen connective tissue, hair, nails, and bones. It acts as a gentle diuretic to improve kidney function and contains antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, with topical applications used for wound healing.
-
Well, I’ve just been watching something and Mares tail got mentioned as highly medicinal ! So I looked it up, lads, have look yourselves…..I wouldn’t be killing that, I’d be eating it !

If I can help in any way with advice, well maybe not advice but just with my experience, don’t hesitate to message me mate and ask.

It’s not about fighting or learning lessons the hard way or any of that….. Home school offers you a chance to change environments and learn how best suits you, to your time line, to your rules. Changing environments applies to everyone, as in, you don’t have to associate with or be a scumbag just because you live in an area full of scumbags…..you can seek out more fulfilling things amongst more up together people if you want to…..so in Bendigos case, his boy is having to go to school in an environment that he don’t like and have to deal with c**ts he don’t want to…..that will be taki

Brilliant mate, well done you ! I know all too well how monumental all what you have achieved there is…..outstanding mate.

A pal of mine runs a big martial arts and “combat” school in the U.K., he trains all sorts of people from kids to government agency’s and everything in between. A very, very capable lad……he always said in his self defence classes “The first thing you do if you can is run away” ! All this Rambo mindset won’t save a nice lad out with his mates from some animal who wants to plunge you ! We don’t live in a world of Queensbury rules straighteners anymore, it just naive to think we do. I don’t think there is anything wrong with young people (or anyone) removing themselves fr

Exactly that mate, there is no “rule” or one size fits all, I think home school parents (or ones considering it) can get too hung up with that education system mindset of having I reach goals and tick boxes…..it don’t work like that, or at least it don’t have to if you don’t want to. It’s so much more flexible than that, you don’t have to sit a kid at the kitchen table every day bored out their f***ing tree because that may not suit their personality……maybe they learn better out making things in the shed while listening to a pod cast about history or science or world events ? Maybe t

This isn’t a thread about autism mate, it’s a thread about home school and a lad looking for views from people with Experience in home school.
-
Didn’t know that mate, my command of Gealic extends to “Agus” ! lol That’s it ! lol
-
So, if you had taken a second to process what I wrote, you said “don’t do it, it’s bad for them socially” or something along them lines and I pointed out that, that just isn’t true because even a lad with autism can learn to function better than most “normal” adults socially when home schooled ! Er go, home school don’t effect them socially at all just because it’s homeschool ! If an autistic lad can fly then anyone can fly. It’s false to say otherwise. It can in fact be much better. There, hope that clears that up.

@Bendigo, just to add, my daughters were hating school and left at 14….they have vocational schools here which are a bit like 6th form as in you can ware your own clothes etc but it’s very informal and they enrolled there (much to everyone’s frowns as it’s looked down on here) They also at the same time went to work in the chippy, grafted every night/weekends etc It was just what they needed, they used the money to fund qualifications that allowed them to do real things in the real world, one of them qualified in adult social care and cops about 40 grand a year and the other is the
