Born Hunter as always, you have put it much better than an uneducated bloke like me ever could. Jukel, I completely concur with Born Hunters sentiment re: your post mate. I'll say this in my very own uneducated way, I just don't think you can legislate for insanity......no matter what you do, you can't and it's unfair to make perfectly normal, nice people pay the price in an attempt to do so. Just to add, one of my very closest pals is a serving soldier with over 10 years service and obviously we have had this very conversation a couple of time because everyone gets the blues. He is a NCO, has multiple tours and combat experience under his belt, he is a really uptogether lad who gets to ply his trade and live his life amongst other very uptogether lads. He has travelled all over the world and still does doing things of real benefit in the places he operates. I'm not ex forces but I think you also have to keep in mind all the positive things about the army. By and large blokes are well looked after now days, plenty of leave/free time, good opportunities to travel and do things most can only dream about......it's a life less ordinary sometimes. And it beats f**k out of being stuck in some shit house town, doing a dead end job with zero respect from any f****r, having to hang round with mates who have not managed to move on from the shit they were doing 15 years ago. That's great, as long as you can see that through, even when it conflicts with your own personal beliefs & feelings. That's when it can unravel. I would say Born is probably one of the best examples on here of someone who believes in the freedom to do something, even when conflicts with his own personal view......As we've discussed in the past, there are a few things you are not happy about people having the freedom to do, even when it doesn't infringe on your own life, so how much liberty do you really want people to have? No,but American citizens need to be protected from random nutjobs who appear to be plentiful in the land of the free. Like the ones on London Bridge you mean ( thankfully a police officer had a gun to stop them ) or the Westminster one (thankfully a police officer had a gun) the Lee Rigby attackers (thankfully a police officer had a gun)....but it cost x amount of lives before the person with the gun showed up to save every f****r. A shame some one didn't have a concealed carry permit.....maybe it could have saved some lives. You sort of see where I'm going with this don't you........

I feel you boys, my uncle lived at Wapping when I was a kid.....the whole family used to go in the Jolly Sailor when we went that side of the water to visit. I remember when they moved him to the new builds out of the old dirty brick flats. A proper grubby area for proper grubby London kids.
