I’m starting to think it don’t matter, there are so many ex Tory’s joining Reform (the same people that thought getting the country to this point was ok !) that they aren’t worth a vote…..they ain’t different, they are the same ! f**k em ! Guess it will have to just keep getting worse and good !, the worse the better !

I think a way better thing is the fact he liked to lay bricks in his spare time and built a wall aeound his family home !

Just browsing around, and yes I know it’s The Guardian !, but it’s interesting….. World’s oldest family tree revealed in 5,700-year-old Cotswolds tomb | Archaeology | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM DNA analysis of bodies in Hazleton North long cairn finds five generations of an extended family

I wonder if they have managed to discover pre Christian Britains burials and map their dna ? Ive not looked it up so I genuinely don’t know.

I like that mate, I won’t forget that one

I believe there is something innate in people to feel a connection to their place and their history…..sounds a bit hokey, but maybe it’s a call from a cellular level ? I don’t know and I dont profess to…..but I believe it. I know some lads have lived abroad for many years, I have only lived outside my own country for 10 but I still see images of England on the telly and I still think “that’s home” and it’s moves me in some way. I have a distinct feeling that this where I live is not my land and can never be. Sounds a bit twee and maybe it can be solely attributed to social facto

Was just about to say the same, folks are talking like “I’m English or Scottish or Welsh”…..if the results go back say, 1500 years then these nation states never existed….no nation state existed until about a thousand years ago. The Saxons for instance ranged from modern day Germany across to modern day France. A good book is “A brief History of The Anglo Saxons”…..very enlightening.

It’s years of training chasing Bob Geldof’s food trucks !

McHull is directly related to Ghengis Did ! I’ll get my coat !…..

I heard a thing the other day, can’t verify it and I forget who I was watching but he said that upto the 1930s, something like 99% of British people could have traced a direct bloodline back 1000 years to Britains of that time….i think that’s an amazing thing if true. Furthermore, he said the Norman’s and the Saxons didn’t have the effect genetically that we all believe they did…..as in, the Norman’s didn’t interbreed with the general population because they were mainly just ruling class and a very small group that kept to other ruling class types. The Saxons account for about 2 or 5

My brother has my dads missing in action letter that was sent to my Nan….its pretty sobering to read: Something like: ”Your son is listed as missing in action….” Cant fathom opening that letter and reading it as a mum can you….

Weirdly enough, I have a pretty rare Surname and there are few with it in the Nottingham area but it showed no markers in that area at all…..so we must have just moved around a bit, which makes sense.
-
The mapping I got was way more focused than that mate, it actually went to a specific area.
-
To be fair, if you know a bit about British history one look at most people will tell you almost all you need to know……
-
I don’t know as much about it as you obviously do so I couldn’t say.

No mate as it happened, or at least I don’t remember any…..I was too busy crying because I had insisted to everyone I was pure, undiluted English ! lol
-
For us it was more an idea sat chatting over dinner rather than any deep longing to find this stuff out mate, as in “shall we do that for a laugh ?” And we did and it turned out interesting. Didnt really pay the government much heed, story of my life ! lol

My wife’s made total sense being from Northern Ireland, she was like 40% Nordic, 40% Scot’s and 20 % Irish…..something like that
-
Worse…..Irish ! lol Mine was 60 % English and narrowed to an extremely small geographical area that I, and as far as I can trace the rest of my family, have lived in since day dot. Then I was 40% Irish narrowed to one small geographical area in County Cork, when I did name checking it made sense historically when tied in with my family history. My grandmothers side, hadn’t really given her maiden name much thought but that’s where it’s traced to and it’s comes from a slang term that was used way, way back in the day for travelling people in that exact area when you cross referenc

I had mine done and so did my wife, there was a surprise for me but it showed geographical area as well and it said something about they could trace back about 1500 years or something like that. I was a clean 60/40 split and my wife was a 3 way split in various quantities. I don’t know if there are various levels of test or what one my Mrs paid for if there is levels, but it was pretty far reaching time wise and very exact location wise.

Mean c**ts, still think a bacon Sandwhich and a mug of tea is £1:50 ! lol

I think one of the more interesting things of late is that lads like us have more in common with the likes of Micheal Foot (remember him ?) than we do any single person in the modern Conservative Party ! Historically, old Labour didn’t want to open up the nation to every big corporate Tom, dick and Harry…they didn’t want supranational EU control. I always loathed them so it’s a bit strange to look back and find so much common ground now.

All this has only been a thing for about 15 years, before 15 years ago you never heard ordinary people talk about “tax” and “money laundering”……everyone liked a bit of readies, it wasn’t frowned on, it was normal ! Then along came Cameron & Clegg, who remembers Nick Clegg all over the news repeating the phrase “The morality of tax” ?…….absolute f***ing nonsense ! I remember listening to The Moral Maze on radio 4 at the time when they discussed that very phrase…..there was an academic on there absolutely took them apart about what absolute nonsense it was. One of the starkest

What most white European lads forget is that they are a valuable currency themselves…..…for every country abusing them there will be another country setting its self up to attract them. Just take yourselves and leave, let them see how they get on with a load of screamers and 3rd world types with their rules and regulations ! I have said this before, Central Europe is setting itself up to attract you……they want your skills, your energy, your ability to build and generate and they don’t mind a pound note and a bit of wheel greasing ! Jmho of course
-
No, you can’t say it and then pretend you didn’t…..it’s there in black and white ! Nobody has to take my word for it, they can read it themselves. Enjoy the holiday squire, good for you mate
