There’s not much else going for it from a business point of view mate, it would be a big deal if they lost that. Mind you, who’s paying the €13billion, ordinary people is who so the tax rate is being subsidised by them.

There’s quiet a socialist political mentality in Ireland, I’m not sure they would like the massive deregulation that small countries need in order to be really successful. The investment that’s here at the moment is because of the corporation tax rate and the weather. It basically costs less to run the servers because of the temperate climate and they only pay 12.5% corp tax. Europe is going to come after that tax rate at some point in the future.

Mate, it was obvious years back that when you accepted all seater stadiums then it was going to go that way. I stopped worrying about going down the Hammers when they made it all seater......it completely ruined my football day out, people talk about the atmosphere at the new ground being shit, to me it diminished when they put in the seats. There you go, football has changed massively. If you want the whole day out with your pals, 2 yards from the pitch, steak pie and a bovril and see a bit of gritty football then non league is the way to go......I go all the time when I’m over, I f***ing love it. If you want to see absolute top of the tree, top of the pay scale, expensive players in the best stadiums, 20yds from the pitch on an entertainment package day out then you go to a premier league game. Because apparently we were poor and could not keep the great players we produced or attract/afford anything better than end of career or 1st division players and journeymen managers brought in to “try” and keep us out of trouble. Exactly that, and that’s why imho we need one of these young blokes to come in and look at our history, promote out of the youth ranks, play exciting passing football, have a bit of grit, take every cup and league game seriously and most importantly keep the players we bring on and build an attractive side that’s West Ham United from the academy to the first team.......that’s our history and that is how we retain it. Now that I do understand mate and that’s why it’s always going to be hard to have football conversations without that emotion.......football is as much your routine on the day as anything else, same for all of us make no mistake. I understand that stretch of sea that separates us may as well be a 10,000 miles in the mind to lots of people mate and maybe that has a lot to do with how things have played out but there’s no getting round the fact that if you take the flags away we are all the same people.....always have been. Mate, you know and I know that it’s not even on the same page.....it’s not even in the same library on the same planet. What we did, especially in a time when we should have been more enlightened, was savage and stupid imho Bollocks to Cromwell, everyone was slaughtering everyone then but not the late 1800s and early 20th century......it was just rediculous and it cost us a very important part of our lsles and we are both weaker for it. We took around 5000 away to an FA cup game at forest mate......what?, 5 or 6 years ago and he put out a side of kids that got murdered 5-0 and it could have been more in order to try and preserve players to just stay alive in the main league. Thats suns up our total ambition for a lot of years mate imho.......I don’t think that means I want us to be Manchester United and I don’t think it means the 5000 angry fans want to be either.

Exactly mate, you don’t have to have ideas above your station to have a bit of pride about yourself as a sporting establishment. And I remember Gnasher was as pissed off as anybody else when that fat c**t pulled that stunt in the cup at Forest the other year.......does thinking you should try and win a cup make you a dreamer with ideas above your station ? No, I dont think it does, what it makes you is a proper sporting outfit with the right mindset imho
