    I built my shed timber frame and metal, 12m x 4m With timber frame I think the secret is to give the structure good boots and a big hat. So decent foundation and slightly oversize roof to really keep water off the sides and away from the feet so to speak. My shed topped up at about €4K with the concrete base, I probably could have shaved €500 off that if I did the base myself. Everything else I did myself

    There’s a few of those building off grid programmes where they use that idea mate, may be worth a look. Out if interest, when you cost it, what would be the difference in doing that compared to timber frame clad in metal ? You would have more flexibility to achieve the footprint you need ?
