Gloucester Old Spot mate. Yeah, I just do them as I need them but cattle for veal by about 10/11 months and boars by about a year but really they should be earlier. Sows it don’t bother me to leave. Sheep I just leave and pick as I need.

Yeah I totally get that mate. Im after more pigs myself but I’m waiting until I can get some pedigree GOS, had some lined up but Brexit put paid to that….too much hassle to import them.

Don’t know your exact situation mate but I always say they don’t take up any freezer room all the time they are walking around eating. Lol I just kill my stuff as I need it.

They will be feeding a mixture of grazing, silage and a shit ton of cow crunch. My postman’s cow crunch bill is around €1500 a month !

Rolled oats are brilliant for any animal in my very limited experience mate. I have fed it to cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry and they all did well on it. I add in a bit of seaweed, that’s it. But hard feed isn’t a “go to” thing for me, it’s a top up in hard weather or just to keep animals tame……they wouldn’t get it as a matter of course.

The government run the police mate as you know……do the maths ? This is why your enemy’s enemy is your friend (imho of course) and we should be supporting OUR OWN people when they protest. The sacrifice for that support is a bit of inconvenience. Not saying I’m right, it just how I see it mate.

No mate, you are refusing to see the facts because you obviously still hold some faith in the institutions and mistakenly believe that the governments we have had the last 20 years are somehow different to each other, you believe that contract between the voter and his government still exists and as such things can still be done in the prescribed, traditional way…….it’s doesn’t and they can’t because folks have sussed on that playing by the rules is a complete waste of time………only the looneys are winning !

I used dairy bull calves for my last lot of veal and it was tidy, no noticeable difference between the Angus calves I used the year previous……except they were less than half the cost ! Lol

Don’t want to get into the clapping too much but why don’t you have a look at match of the day where thousands are clapping in every stadium in the land while every player is down grovelling about in their knees. Its a fact. Cressida Dick is the most senior law enforcement officer in the land and she gave a message of support to a group who were rioting, vandalising and extremely militant. Im not making any of this up and you know I’m not. The span of time between the two events have absolutely no bearing on the facts of the matter.

It don’t help that over here at least, most farmers don’t know how much they are getting for their beast until after it’s dead in the factory ! That’s a mental situation. The last beef cattle I kept (which I sold instead of killed) cost buttons to feed and they were in excellent order when I sold them, well fleshed and great condition. They cost me €2 per beast, per week to feed when they were housed over winter……every farmer I told that nearly fell down dead in the floor ! Unfortunately they don’t fit into the system even though they kill out better than almost any other br

Let me educate you lads…….nearly half a million people protested the hunting ban in the prescribed manner to MPs and Parliament with all due concern for motorists, ambulances and Uncle Tom Cobley and got told to go f**k themselves…….. Black Lives matter wrecked the gaff and got a message of support from Cressida Dick, a say and a power way above their numbers in society and a whole nation clapping every f***ing Saturday……. Hows that for a bit of education

I’m a big believer in the fats the flavour mate…..but there’s also more to it than that imho. I could tell you my pork from a shop bought bit of pork no problem at all, mine would be darker, have a decent layer of fat and when cooked it wouldn’t be in the least bit dry. Same for sheep, a 4 year old sheep just fed grass will taste better than any factory lamb…..guaranteed. As I say I can’t speak for beef because I have not reared to beef age but this shit we buy in the shops is hideous. Getting fed a bag a day of south American soya to get them upto weight by 30 months

I only rear mine to Veal mate but I know there’s a place in France who’s name escapes me that sells what is widely regarded as some of the best beef you can buy and they won’t kill that animal any earlier than 4 years old and preferably older. If I fed any top up feed to any of my animals I only feed rolled oats which is most likely also GM but hey, organic is 3 times the price so it’s a trade off but I don’t use much. That will put fat on animals like you don’t believe but other than that, all grass for cattle, sheep and pigs and they all taste amazing.

Mine would be grass fed, nothing to do with fat to meat or flavour, purely because it’s the right thing to do. Factory cattle are killed too young anyway to be top class beef. jmho

The evidence is there, all around us every day of the week. Im not going to explain the obvious. However, me saying you liked blacks seemed to trigger you a little bit which is a bit strange if you think we are all the same…..if we are all “one race the human race” then what is there to be triggered about ? Surely you’d have just said “yeah, I do like blacks, I’m exactly the same as them” ? Strange ?

Not spat out my dummy at all mate, if you are into blacks that’s fine. Nobody else’s business, I don’t have a problem with it. Blacks have their own unique culture and genetic character traits, it’s just a fact.

DeNiro plays the sociopath with the soft centre so well. It was almost a reprisal of his roll in the deer hunter although I wouldn’t be as familiar with Heat as I am the deer hunter which is one of my all time favourite films. The “This is this” scene I totally got, if indeed there was anything to get because I understood that attitude. I understand exactly why you would use those type of characters as a teaching aid brother. Its a much more educated way to display the lesson of “don’t be a c**t” ?
