  1. A year on Clipper mate,be nice to see a few pictures of his sister if you have them
  2. If you know, then you know.........you obviously dont, for whatever reason, so we shall just leave it there. The truth will always out
  3. He did Now we are having a sensible conversation, would you prefer the fox to get away?....if so, why?
  4. Was sat in Littlevixens kitchen on Sunday talking about how on fox drives, even the most proficient game shot can struggle with foxes on the ground and coming through the guns, a situation when as I am sure you will agree, a decent lurcher would have come in very handy indeed.......pre ban of course.
  5. Oh I dont really agree with that, many of the younger keepers in the job are clever enough to realise what a handy tool a good lurcher can be.......do keep up with the times old boy Wilf There's nothing like gaining a bit of experience to show you the errors of your youth. No lad with a lurcher would get an interview let alone a job with any of the headkeepers and single handed keepers that I am acquainted with. For a number of reasons, that we are all very aware of. You should get around more then old bean
  6. Have a good un all you Jocks, f**k me your all as ugly as sin.......but I like you
  7. Well said DEV, and as for the earth "stinking of fox" most of the time, the dog knows best........Most of the lads on here can tell you of occasions before the ban, when you looked at earths and thought it just had to be holding but a good honest finder/marker has said no. Trust your dog until it proves otherwise
  8. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/221802-tug-training/ There you go matey, its a start anyway. Good luck with your dog
  9. So Lena has a nasty bump on the head today then? Show those crappy hunt terriers what a proper dog is all about mate ..........
  10. Oh I dont really agree with that, many of the younger keepers in the job are clever enough to realise what a handy tool a good lurcher can be.......do keep up with the times old boy A few realise what a pain in the arse they can be as well!! Have to admit it doesn't do lads many favours when i'm looking to take someone on. Sure there'll be plenty on here who will have something to say about that but maybe i'm old fashioned! You are ya grumpy git .....I seem to remember a young lurcher on a shoot day last year How is the banshee settling in?......is he still alive? lol
  11. Is that all ........great stuff lads
  12. The same applies to the UK. Unless you can trace your ancestry back to the Picts and the Celts and the line has remained pure for the last 2.5 centuries We are all descended from immigrants. Put your glasses on ballsack, I said Northern European
  13. Talking of ugly dogs! lol......slow but sure for this young un, a few faults of my own making but so far so good in all other respects 16 months now and when he realises his own power he could make something. If he does a quarter as well as the dogs in the previous pictures, I will be a happy man.
  14. Agreed As for roe being out on windy nights, a very experienced lad once told me that they dont like the fact that they cant hear properly in the noisy, windy wood at night and what I have observed would seem to back him up
  15. Cracking thread lads, its a bit odd really that the MB thread has 35+ people on it when a thread with dogs who are getting grafted properly has 4. Thanks for sharing, its a belter
  16. In all honesty matey, I think they will break themselves.........I dont think the country has much sympathy for them at a time when we are all feeling the pain and the timing is stupid. When folk in the private sector and the self employed are struggling to just stay alive and pay the bills, they will find it hard to get their head around public sector people want to reinforce the gold plate on an already very generous package. IMHO, they should have waited and then tryed for an improvement when there was some more money sloshing around in a few years time.........no one would have given
  17. Keeping the wind in your face chaps and working out your approach to suit will also help..........its also pretty handy to try and put yourself between them and the wood they want to be in. Now, this may open a can of worms, but in my humble opinion it dont take any magical skill to get within a 100yds of Roe, Fallow or even Muntjac......cant say for Reds or Sika as I have never stalked them although on open moorland it would obviously be a lot more difficult. Bottom line is, getting to know a creatures habits will beat the arse of all the washing in this and dont sweat in that any day
  18. Another way of putting it is that they are happy to stand by and let the private sector take the pain while they are not affected......personally, as is always the case with unions, I think its selfish, narrow minded and unrealistic. I hope the government breaks them.
  19. Oh I dont really agree with that, many of the younger keepers in the job are clever enough to realise what a handy tool a good lurcher can be.......do keep up with the times old boy
  20. Good thread Stubby, the Arena is lifting with them and the Warren has a population as well. Do you freeze them cooked or un-cooked?.........normally, un-cooked shellfish turns to mush.
