  1. who nows lad best of luck all depends , you should'nt have said anything to the old bill before speaking to a solicitor except for your name and address and walking the dogs good luck So you were cautioned under one law, but have been sent a summons under another? You cant be charged with anything under the hunting act if its all as you say it is. Google "Burden of Proof Hunting Act" and all the information is there matey
  2. I could be wrong but I believe the Hunting Act is a strange anomolie in which it is the accused who has to prove they were innocent rather than the other way round as would normally be the case. Take some advice matey, it dont sound too complicated so it shouldnt cost much......good luck
  3. 10 hour round trip...... An hour there, and hour back, two hours on the hill and six hours on the grog is more the story! Lol
  4. It's a good job you kept it covert and only came on here and told just the 28'000 people......otherwise some people may have got to know what you were up to! Lol lol Like your dogs by the way.
  5. I have driven the roads round Coniston, hunted the fells around Troutbeck and walked the fells around Kentmeer, stayed there in fact. Fished a couple of the waters round there too. Loved very minute of it.
  6. You are indeed lucky mate, love that part of the world.......I bet that breeze was cutting up there, talked to my pal last night up in Longtown and he said it was f*****g freezing......maybe he is just spending to long in my part of the world !!lol I have to put on a jumper when I pass Watford !! Lol Cracking picks, they can be very productive those big blocks of Conifer......hunted a couple of such places with a gun pack in Wales.......as I remember, that was f*****g freezing too!!! Lol
  7. I am the only one who finds that juuuusssstttttt a little bit creepy? !!!
  8. A deerhound x greyhound is just as good mate, as with all dogs good and shite.........I have that sal/bul/grey breeding in my kennel now and I like him, he would have been pre ban an all purpose tool but I have had the same cross before and it was absolutely shite.
  9. Haha....show off, I gave 200 sovs for mine but then again I am a cheap kind of guy lol lol Who gave you that picture of me? Lol lol
  10. Haha....show off, I gave 200 sovs for mine but then again I am a cheap kind of guy lol lol
  11. I couldn't really tell you mate as I don't have enough experience of different places and prices, plus I don't really ask as its of no matter to me.......one place I go, all the guns are arriving in helicopters and ferraris One gun had a complete set of £900 tweeds, £200 boots and a purdey complete with purdey ammunition that he had bought just for the day!! Told me he hadn't shot in about 10 years.....so that probably tells you all you need to know about what he is paying!! I have never bought a driven day in my life but on the small private shoots they are paying about £ to £100 a d
  12. Agreed matey, I don't think folk realise what pressure is on the keeper on shoot day, be it a small private syndicate or a big expensive shoot. For the small bloke, you still want to show your members some shooting and hopefully some decent birds. For the big shoot, the guns are paying a lot of money and you have to show everything to the best of your ability.....if they have a crap day the boss may feel the need to give them a free day which can run into a nice string of 00000000s Some days cost what some folk earn in a year, now that's pressure.
  13. I have permission on quiet a good estate, the keeper is from a family of keepers and you might say he is " old school"....lol....I don't think he would have a lurcher as a gift and I know for a fact he thinks they are a f*****g nuisance BUT he lets me have a wander on there come the end of the season, comes out with me. I will beat for him when I can or if he is short......he is a pal, and pals help each other out.......I have seen lads come beating and first day they are in the keepers ear about when they can get on pigeon shooting or whatever it is they want to do They don't do thei
  14. alot of keepers are useing lurchers its just some of the numptys that spoil for everyone they dont hate all lurcherlads Spot on! If someone comes on my land with a gun and they don't have permission they are poaching......if someone comes on my land with a dog and they don't have permission they are poaching..... Has sweet fa to do with gamekeepers not liking lurcherlads! The difference with hopping over the fence of a keeper estate compared to a bog standard arable farm is that you wouldn't know where the birds are penned or the covers are.....you may very well be f*****g up a shoo
  15. I try and be pragmatic about these things mate, I will do £50 in squirt on a night out lamping so it's neither here nor there really.
  16. Aye, I agree but it has never bothered me getting my hand in my pocket and if 50 or 100 quid drink put me on a couple of thousand acres then its peanuts.
  17. Aye, but to be honest mate I don't mind paying if that's what is needed, I have to pay for my fishing so it don't bother me one bit to pay for anything. Never even got that far, hey ho, I ain't crying about it.....something else always comes along
  18. If things get a bit samey then have a change or have a rest, the beauty of guns is they don't eat nothing or need walking so it don't matter if you put them away for a while
  19. Used to play football but now I am too old and fat, so it's dogs, shooting, fishing....if I get bored I do a bit with the wires ( that's great for kids to join in with) .......time is limited with 3 nippers and another on the way.
