    Sorry ditch, it was only a suggestion........and im not contemplateing on doing it, i don't do any cage traping and probably never will it doesnt interest me in the slightest. So the second suggestion is out of the question but what about the first??

    Cant you just push a stick into the cage and pin down the mink while with the other hand wear a welding glove open the trap and grab it. Or just drop the cage trap with mink inside into a drum of water? Or would that be illegal? If it isnt then surely its the safest way

    My half whippets are fine when walking in the cold and rain but dont like sitting in it. They also will not go into water not even puddles no matter how shallow if it looks like water then they wont walk in it. They are kenneld together with out any heating and are fine. Iv lamped with mine on really cold windy nights were it is pelting it down with rain and they are fine just the odd winge when standing still for a bit. David

    Here she is today, she has grown alot since i got her at 6 week old. I cant wait to get her out this time next season. She is very game and full of energy. She is fed on barf and is doing really well on it. She gets really fired up and im sure she enjoys pain. She enjoys nothing more than fighting my mums lap dog I thought i would post the pic to show how she has progresed since i got her. David

    I admit they will pick up a couple off rough scrub and long grass but when rabbits are on short grass they really do fly even on the lamp When they straight line on a golf course even lurchers struggle and they are bred to run. So a collie wouldnt even come close especially on lamp shy rabbits where longer slips are all that is available. David

    I wouldnt recomend it, all it will do is wise up the rabbits that escape and lets face it most will......If its something you want to try then go a head but it will only make your life harder.....makeing the rabbits on your permision more lamp shy

    Small draft free kennel and they will be fine One of mine has got it easy tonight tho she will be sleeping on my uncles sofa lol David

    Yeah she is out 5 nights a week as long as its not foggy Its clear over here now so she ill be out tonight. This is her first season and she has been doing well. She wont take squatters but they are few and far apart around here anyway. She has had 4 single handed charlie and a nice amount of hare in my dreams of course now theres a ban :whistle: She is only really used on rabbits but if something pops up and she is off the lead what can i do if she cocks a deff one David

    By the way mate, im hopefully going to sleep at my uncles tonight so i can try out that spot with the dog and lamp. Ill let you know if its any good Im going to go straight from work i finish at 1 so should get there for about half 1 at the latest. Im worn out got in last night after that 19mile walk and got called into work I did'nt get in till 3am this morning I stayed in bed till 1pm tho lol im working from 7pm to 1am tonight

    The trainers are mine lol i was carrying them around because i had some boots on. I had a long walk home from the fields and didnt fancy doing it wearing boots. She just happend to be stood there sniffing them when i took the photos Tf rews collie cross is handcock bred and im very very glad mine isnt! lol Nice looking dog mate good luck with it David
