  1. I have the hushpower. Its awsom with the two inch shells for night work  two and a half for killing foxes in wires and the three inch shells are great for killing rabbits and pigeons
  2. Magpie and pigeon feathers work well but duck feathers are the best because they are water proof and stay fresh looking for longer (especially after rain) as we all know what magpie and pigeon feathers look like when wet, hope that helps . Well done with the mink by the way and a nice looking set
  3. I remember it well Foxshot, you shot very well under the circumstances and the two bucks you shot where twins as you said. Nice bag of foxes and roe v.max and good shooting
  4. A cage trap and a decent air rifle
  5. My lad is 14yrs old and has shot 1000s of rabbits and is a very good shot but the old saying is practice makes perfect and hes had lots of practice. The hw77 are heavy but they are super accurate and very reliable.Yeah its a nice buck but there was two others with heads as good if not better then the one in the picture in the same couple of fields
  6. I like the .22 calibre myself but this may be of more help to you. Click here HTH Michael whats your reasons for prefering the .22 if you dont mind me asking Scuba
  7. ive had a lot to do with air rifles over the years and tried both calibres over a long period and i think the .177 is a better calibre than the .22.It shoots much flatter and will kill cleanly at a greater distance. My lad regularly shoots fifty or more rabbits in a day with his hw77 and thats in .177 calibre, but its all about opinions at the end of the day :yes:My lads on the left of the picture and my brothers lad is on the right
  8. Yeah lost a total of seven stone and back in the gym five days a week, was a right fat twat its a HW77 in .177 calibre and was tuned when i bought it about three years ago and still shoots really well,my lad shoots alot of gear with it
  9. I was out for first light this mornong stalking the wood edges where ive seen alot of roe lately.I seen six roe in two fields and this buck took my fancy.I shot him at about 200yds through the neck And here is another pic of my lad out with his air rifle and the quad shooting some nuisence rabbits and hares on a farm where i got a phone call to get rid of them
  10. Yeah been a bit quiet but back now devvo, and thanks for the welcome mate
  11. I aree that the .22 centre fires do the buisiness except the .22 hornet which is too underpowered for all but close up shots on foxes. The .222 and the .223 are brilliant fox calibres but to me the .243 is the no1 fox calibre
  12. A 10oz T Bone steak fried for no more than thirty seconds each side
  13. I believe it is legal to use the destress calls for foxes but elligal for corvids (crows etc)
  14. Totaly agrea baldie.BASC let me down big style a number of years ago over a fire armes law that they wrongly quoted to me then denied all knowledge of it and where even rude over the phone when i questioned it,bunch of w....s
  15. Good shooting foxshot. What scope is on that rifle if you dont mind me asking
  16. The best man on hear for advice on moles is Moley but that could be like getting blood out of a stone lol.His dvd will give you some great tips
  17. The fact is they all do the job and they all do it well, its simply a matter of choice.Ive tried everything from a .22 hornet to a .243 which is what i use now and to be honest i stick with the .243 because its not just a superb fox round but its also deer legal and its now my only full bore rifle for the simple reason that i know that rifle inside out.I dont think swapping and changing calibres really helps your accuracy so i stick to my .243 for everthing.
  18. The 22.250 is an awsome peice of kit but when i went onto the .243 there was no comparison so in my opinion the .243 is the calibre to go for out of the two
  19. Well done TeeJay,its nice to pick those doubles up this time of year
