  1. Have a Andre Georgescu call which works well, pulled a few in with it.
  2. I use a rizzini multi choke, 28" barrells, got it for £300. Use it for shooting game, its not to heavy to carry around all day. Rather use that than the browning 525 which is more for clays.
  3. We get down to individual taste and preferences, bottom line is ALL deer taste good to me, Fresh, Free Range and as Organic as you are going to get. The flavour and texture changes throughout the year but I always rate them best around this time of year, usually from late September to about mid/late October! This year is still vey mild and lots of fresh foodstuffs about so still excellent now! To answer the question, from my point of view a good Muntjac just edges a good Roe in the eating stakes! What do they taste like? Have never tried or shot muntjac as don't have t

  5. Mines has rust appearing on it, it's about 3 year old. Mate of mine was telling me that he was out and shot a fox and noticed something shooting out to the side, on closer inspection there was a hole in the cover over the t8 and a hole in the side. He was also saying a few folk where having this problem and the company that made them where offering 40% off new ones.
  6. Smart arse Am i being thick or summit. What do you do with polystyrene Rub it on the 4x4 window. John Like he says rub it on wing mirror or window, you can ge different pitches with it. Just wet the end of he polystyrene
  7. Use a Andre Georgescu squeaker. Also use hand and polystyrene
  8. Yep 243 will kill anything that we can shoot in the UK, no problem. As with any calibre, shot placement is everything and with the flat tradectory I find it my calibre of choice. I've shot Red, Fallow, Roe, Muntie, Foxes, Rabbits, Geese, Crows and even a Bull. At the farmers request I might add. Nothing wrong with the 243, it's down to the man who squeezes the trigger. Yip agree put the bullet in correct place. Have dropped a cow on the spot with 243, again at farmers request. Once you get your rifle you become confident with it.
  9. I used to put eggs in the catching compartment during march april time. Worked for me. On baiting larsen traps I was told that ages ago that meat could not be put in the caching compartment as this would target the wrong species. Anyone else heard this our was the guy talking
  10. I use a 243 for roe, foxes and now and again red deer.
  11. About £18 or £19 a box, the 80grains are fine, never used the 100's yet apart from on bovine... Cheers Ian
  12. Had 24 so far, seeing plenty, saw 11 in 1 night. Don't know about the rest off you, but found this year that not many coming to the squeak, spoke to a few folk around here and they are having the same problem, just not interseted.
  13. Nice to see the young one out, my wee girl wanting to go out, only 5 though. One day have her out. Like they say the Young's ones are the future in this industry
  14. Sounds like I ties to me, crazy fools
  15. Thats the 1. Think he thought we reared woodcock, was always asking for the them for his partys to shoot. Take cover.
  16. Has any of you had good or bad reports on Winchester 100 grain 243 bullets? Have been using Norma 100 grain, but the price is up to £32 a box of 20. So looking to change to something different, cost a bit cheaper too. Any help would be good. Ta
  17. Is there still the italian bloke around here that goes after the geese, has the long wheel base land rover.
  18. Is that a black tip at the end of the tail? Good looking fox.
  19. He caught a few young pole cats a nd a couple of old ones too. He did have a hedgehog killing some poults but that was taken care off.

  21. i wonder how many would have claimed it ??????????????????????? fecking brilliant mate Bet there's been a few that would have.
  22. There was 2 heads on the floor of game dealers. The other head was sligtly damaged. Not going to get the light coloured one measured as I did'nt shoot it, just thought it was a good head to go to waste.
  23. The dark coloured head was one that I shot at a place where I use to work, was knocking the hell out off a tree. Shot him last year on a evening stalk, biggest buck I have shot. He weighed 24kg clean weight in larder. Haven't had him measured yet. The other light coloured head was one that when down at the game dealers was lying in the corner and was going to be thrown out in with the waste as the bloke that took in didn't want it.
