  1. Out tonight to complete stalk #2 for DSC2. A pleasant stalk, despite the wind, through a nice valley where a good sized buck wanders out at 40yds. He hadn't seen me and the wind was quartering so I didn't have long to get the sticks deployed and get on it. He was licking his nose a lot, sensing something on the wind and then he move about two paces before lifting his head for another sniff. BANG! A 140 grain Nosler partition dropped him on the spot, not even a kick, nice . He was a nice size with a good interesting head. The gralloch went smoothly and all was good. Just one more to
  2. Walk in the park lad. What did you put in for?
  3. My 6.5x55 does 2600 fps shall I sell it and get a .17HMR? Sorry Whippeter, just pulling your leg :friends:
  4. Dave I have 17 once fired factory Federal and 24 twice fired Norma factory (reload was VERY pedestrian). you are welcome to it if you want it.
  5. The first book I got was ABC's of Reloading. Loads of info and a good base for further reading. Have a search for it on amazon, relatively cheap and free postage Another vote for this book - ideal for the novice. Also U Tube have some very good vids on reloading - especially by Ammosmith Yet another for the ABC's of reloading. Richard Lee's book of Modern Reloading is good too, I also have the Hornady book and the Lyman one too. All give you a step by step guide of what to, and not to, do! I have the Lee kit with one or two RCBS add ons. Many world records are held or ha

  8. Rifle by a long chalk. I just can't seem to get into the shotgun lark so I flogged mine and just have a .410 for when I take the kids out.
  9. thats what i do. i also give them a soaking with there water bottles every now and then lol i just did that with the water bottles 5mins ago its boiling here in scotland So about 11 deg C then
  10. And you're not having it back niether !! £450 is a rip off so I'd look elsewhere if I were you. As for a scope, £200 is way too much, as already suggested look at Hawke or even a WTC, you don't need super duper glass on a .22 rimmy. I have a Hawke on mine and it works fine under the lamp. Save the cash you save and get a bipod or decent scope mounted lightforce lamp.
  11. This is more common than you would think. If the forms aren't sent recorded they seem to get 'lost', I know mine did and I know of a few others too, plus yours, hmmmm a pattern occuring ? You's have got me worried now men, was going to send it recorded but just sent 1st class, i probably could of even handed it in personally as i work about 5/6 mile away from the ponteland HQ where i sent my forms to. i'll start panicking if i havent heard anything in a couple of weeks. Don't wait that long, give it a couple of days and phone to check everything arrived ok. Just puts your mind at

  13. Because a degree makes you a better person of course
  14. Guess what happened next??? Go on then, the suspense is killing me...
  15. I estimate my .222 to cost me no more than 36p per pop (reloads). Not too expensive. Not sure about factory rds as I have never used them, but I hear PRVI ammo is cheap as chips in this cal.
  16. Yes! The 17hmr is 0.170" the .177 is what it says on the tin, i.e. 7 Thou' smaller, pri*k in a shirtsleeve. Oh dear. Dick head in shirt sleeves has been there, got a t shirt to be a dick head in & on his way to wearing it out. Wise gentleman with pencil pushed up his bottom reads facts & figure written on paper to explain to dick heads this valuable information. Where did wise gentleman with pencil up his bottom get his information from. Dick head wearing a t shirt that he got while writeing information that the wise gentleman with pencil up his bottom is reading. I thi
  17. .22LR - 60 Yds .17HMR (when I gad one) - 35 Yds, point and click out to 125yds .222 - 100 Yds (dial in further distances now) Everything else - 1" high at 100 Yds
  18. Nice shot John. Crow boping is one of my favourites
  19. Twickers was on the ball!

  20. Aye, a Leica LRF is on the shopping list, I used my mates to range the shot and was very impressed. LRF + Exbal should see me right for a start.
  21. Thanks fellas. I had just zeroed at 1.2" high at 100yds so with the cross hair resting on the rabbit's back it was a clean kill. I have just bought a Leup with target turrets so will have a go at dialing in when I get sorted. I want to see how far I can push the Triple!!
  22. I was out with a mate today and sorted a .25" grouping 50grn V-Max load for my .222. I don't get to do too many long shots (long for the triple) but managed my furthest shot so far with a 244 yard rabbit. I got home and told the missus but she couldn't have been less interested so I had to tell someone .
  23. Still got it mate. So its yours if you want it. I'll pm you. Lol, yeah the thought had crossed my mind but I can't devote enough time to ferrets so it wouldn't be fair to them.
