  1. And that was my point, I was making the point that the way some talk whenever the topic of lamping hares is mentioned you'd think that every hare that was lamped was taken with ease which wasn't the case.
  2. All this hares aint a challenge/are easy for a dog on the lamp is bollocks, I aint debating the fact that daytime could be more of a challenge to a dog. But the way some talk you'd think hares forget how to run at night, same with all game you'd get some that seemed suicidal .....but there were also plenty that didn't make it easy on a dog
  3. But how much exactly!!!...lol he knows dogs are gifted between friends
  4. Are you talking about buying in or given? I've been gifted entrered dogs in the past when circumstances have dictated that have kept me going and there's a few I dig to fairly regularly that I'd take in a heartbeat if the owners fancied passing them on...lol jasher thats more what i was trying to get out how much whuld you pay for a dog you have seen dug week in week out a dog you no gives 200% evry time and produces a high percentage of workers a dog you whuld take in a heart beat whats whuld you pay upto for a dog what in your eyes will totally upp your game and do good for your kennles
  5. Taking the boxing aside (as there's no doubting he had ability and was always a good watch in the ring), having unfortunatly met him on more than a few times the man's a complete c8nt!.....and you're right on the accident/driving offence and anyone knowing that road and strech he crashed on injurying that couple will know how much of a c8nt he is.

  7. Must be someone else holding them cos there no where near fat enough..lol
  8. Depends how far you're wanting to travel/ if you've got transport, Lauderdale, Buccleuth will be good meets on New Years day or Fife might be as close from West Lothian. As for having a dog with you if you're following one of the mounted packs prob not the best idea to show up for the first time with a runner lol. If it's the foot pack you followed in Biggar then no harm in asking you never know you might get to flush one to the guns. If you want meets for some of the packs I've mentioned Pm me.

FFs that gave me a laugh...........Best no better than Bellamy.....Roy of the Rovers stuff....lol ...some rose tinted glasses you've got there fella
  10. Miles I've enjoyed reading your other thread/blog it's been interesting reading about a different viewpoint/lifestyle to my own and I've always found them well written and always worth a read, shame it's turned out the way it has especially before the hobbit house was built I was looking forward to seeing how it turned out! As I've alluded to I might not share your opinions/belief especially around staying on land that was someone else's property and choosing the lifestyle you have with young kids but hey you chose it stuck by it and enjoyed it while it lasted. All the best, hope you and
  11. Cracking looking pup Vin! It's the spit of mine at that age, the sire certainly seems to throw a few like himself. All the best with the pup.
  12. Liam answers that with regards the lines, oh and read 10 posts up from yours, lucky escape ;-) They're from trenching lines as you and liam well know, crossed with self preservation lines!!! Jealousy a terrible thing lol
  13. That thing looks one ugly fecker! Though i'd agree with your last post Charts, would simply adding ink prevent this...? If it does, crack on... One thing I find strange is its name, especially in its ear, surely his (the vets) name or sommat would be better, did he go for the Swallows or Tribal on the next sitting... Post's next tat was a teardrop to go with his new black nose lol Ffs it takes all sorts
  14. Agree completely with you on not working a dog sore/giving it healing time before working again, but to have never ever had a dog walk on you you've been very lucky imo!
  15. Only going by your post but that hole in the pic doesn't look 4ft x 3ft rectangle it looks like you've had to trench on, now anyone that says they've never had to trench on at some time is full of sh*t, truth be told though if you're trenching on like that you will be effecting/ruining the earth/tubes for the future. As has been said on the thread everyone has an opinion and if you're going to put pics up of a dig where you've had to trench on like that expect people to comment on it, my first impression when I saw that pic is that you've sunk the hole too quick and the dogs moved on or the do
  16. Another good write up thanks for sharing, it's not the first and def won't be the last time dogs have been called off thinking we know best.....just for them to prove us wrong lol. Hope the bitch has turned up safe today Cheers
  17. Once again another great read that, thanks for taking the time to write it...keep posting really enjoy your posts could be there with you the way you write them. Cheers
  18. I'll keep an eye out and put word round here in case anyone's offered it
  19. If you've got problems with ferals taking birds on your land or permission you've been asked to control pests on then do the right thing and trap/shoot them...if your talking about cats that are near dwellings then more likely than not there someone's pet and as for all the talk about if one shit in my garden the dog will have it grow up Ffs no wonder dog lads get a bad name with comments like that on an open forum
  20. Enjoyed reading that, it's all about getting out and sounds like a satisfying local 1/2 hr Cheers
