I've always been under the impression it is charti, I maybe wrong mind.lol Its something I was told by an old poacher I knew. Nah, mate; venison has a lower fat content than any comparable meat.... beef, lamb, pork, chicken, etc ! Cheers. It's very rich in goodness hence why it bulks dogs. I find dogs can't eat masses as they shit for England lol venison is full of protein, thats why it bulks dogs up nearly has the same amount of protein as tuna.

Been following this interesting thread since around the 220 mark, lol. Not much to add but I'm curious about this behaviour. Is it specific to Collie blood (Bulpa and Don were both lurcher to full collie right?) or do many lurchers of different breeding show it? Reason I ask is my bitch (dam was a half x collie grey) is exactly the same. Steady to stock but fecking hates anything harassing her especially beast! She really gets stressed out when they mob us. She's the only lurcher I have ever known to be like it. One eye on the job and the other on near by beast! It's a pain in the arse but cer

See now your getting personal, the guy asked for opinions and that's my opinion. So pack the name calling in Nothing personal about it, just MY opinion. YOUR opinion isnt based on fact, its just a well rehersed pile of shit trotted out by those who know nothing about salukis.

Really, I have found the opposite, more seem to be a little prone especially when terrier blood is added. I don't agree it's just entering that causes it although it could play a part, it's more just ''one of those things' Maybe it's the few I have seen which are a tad to eager for there own good, when it's coupled with there speed and size? Cheers for the replies food for thought. i have to agree its not just down to entering my dog dint start hunting till he was 11 or 12 months old,and was never softh mouthed allways killed first,my pals bitch was entered the same age,she was

Nice looking dog, very similar type to one my father has, was he laid back, sensible and would he retrieve rabbits live? he was a laid back dog out of the field but when in the field dog didnt miss a beat allways on his toes,he did retrieive but not alive was a c**t like that but i didnt mind,as for injuries dog had 3 good seasons with me and was never laid up,he hit a dyke one night that i didnt notice at full pelt after a rabbit i thought he was dead dog jumped up and carried on lamping for the rest of the night,he is with a pal now and still didnt get an injury only used for ferreting

here is a whippet i owend, who had the heart of a lion would smash a ditch in pursuit of a rabbit, the best ferreting dog i have ever seen,if he marked theres rabbits in there, always on top of the bolt, had brains to burn, wasnt the fastes dog in the world wasnt slow either thou, had a hatred for fox when he came on a foxs scent would follow it like a beagle and accounted for a fair few while hunting with the terriers and teagles, nearly always think of much i miss him when out with the terriers hunting about.great little dogs to have about,he stood at 22tts and was strong.
