  2. got a cocker at about 16 months and she started like that but i got her out more and more and as she getting older she is getting better, she still isnt perfcet but what dog is,she would go in a hole in she hedge and then come out the same hole.get her places where theres plenty of stuff to bush out for her to scent,if she dosent know what to smell for then why bother going in.atvb with your pup.i hope she improves
  3. years back my dads mate had a brittany we use to fly harris hawkes over it and it was one of best finding, pointing and flushing dogs iv seen, another one of my dads mates had one and it was a pile of shit but had had a crap start.think it will be a grate dog with the time.atvb
  4. it cant hurt anything.keep it on a lead.dont pannick.just turn up and the keeper will tell you were you need to be.its not rocket science...beaters and dogs go in,birds come out.just keep the dog under control,it dosent have to be perfect, just not running riot, you will be suprised what some of the so called decent gun dogs are like.
  5. correct...in these bad times you can turn to your dogs plus free meat!! hope you get sorted mate
  6. i have for sale 1998 r reg daihatsu fortrack tdl se in blue with a silver back.7 seat version.103000 miles, interior is in good condition, body is solid apart from slight surface rust on back arches but nothing too bad,at its last m.o.t all sills were welded at daihatsu and a few other things,i have recipts, plenty of history, recent cam belt swap.drives mint.will be fully valeted but isnt bad anyway.hasnt been used for driving fields.m.o.t runs out in december but i will have it redone before sale or might be willing to knock a bit off if someone wants to take it without, its a decent motor and iv
  7. i prefer le chameus but my old man swears by hunters and worn them as long as i can remember and never worn anything else.i had a pair and didnt get on witht them as much as the le chameaus but i belive they le chameaus are now been produced in japan or somewere like that as aposed to france and the few recent pairs i have seen havnt been a patch on the ones that i own so be wary.i hear that the toggis are decent thow and a touch cheaper.
  8. cheers for info....never used any hitech stuf like that, sounds interesting thow.
  9. just had a quick glance on ebay to check price with the other guy saying they were over £100 they range from £17.50 upto £25 like i paid so they are fairly cheap to buy and a whole range of colours.
  10. over £100??? there about £20 for lightforce striker.just plastic that clips over the frount,iv got red and amber and they wernt alot of money, the do work aswell but i dont use them often.a keeper friend sweares by amber and dosent lamp without it
  11. my mate once had a collie x that could shift but just ran out of steam on long runs, once saw it colapse after a fairly short run on a hare but it was fine for a few bunnies,it didnt stay long and ended up in a pet home.
  12. should grow out of it,i was out earlier kicking around with a few lurchers and terriers and terriers caught a rabbit in bushes and came off it so i sent my spanial pup in to retrive it and as she came out big halfx bull/greyhound slammed into it,was funny to watch a tug of wall between a bullx and a tiny cocker bitch.cocker won and retrived the bunny to me but i had lurcher that would run off with kills and all sorts and its very frustrating but as others said try the pup on its own so its not thretened by competition over the kill.atvb
  13. EXACTLEY HARES NOT SHOT AND RUN OFF TO DIE ITS TOTALLY 100|% SO ALL DONT LIKE IT JUST FECK OFF
  14. no wories brother.cheers jenks...you got your bullx pup yet?? yer ring me jim and we can have a run out one night.
  15. i dont think your far wrong mate, starting them too young is usually the cause when they cant catch stuff and get frustrated and yap and the ideas you have may help to stop it all id say is rest it up and then start again and give it squatters that are way out from the setts is all you can do.mates got a whippet that screams after quarry,he didnt particularly start it too early, just does it,can be a problem in whippets so im told but as i dont use them i wouldnt know.atvb
