cracking little bitch that,a credit to ye,atb jamiew nice looking dog all i can see would be better coat,better feet,better nose,chances are they will hunt up in cover a bit cheaper to feed but i agree 100%,im not fussed about dogs under 24inch as id like to think that pre ban my dog would have a crack at whatever you might bump into where as a 18inch beddyx probably woant,not to say that there arnt any decent ones out there that would of easily pulled charlie,just chances are not many will make the grade

good strong dogs at fare prices,depends what land you run them on,my mate had a mike brown bitch that got killed last year in a lamping accident,was a shame because she was a cracking rabbiting bitch,herd a lot of good things,he also has another whippet local bread which is just a scrawny pile of shit,catches few bunnys on lamp but it just ended up with its feet in ribbens after 5 or 6 runs so now its just a pet on the setee and he gets out with the better stuff,theres a lot of good whippets out there bred by lads for there own use but theres also a lot of shite aswell and wading through the c

saluki/grey with a tiny bit of bull blood,saluki grey would be ideal but some never make the grade on charlies (as in any breed),i know a lad who's kept fen dogs all his life and also used them for lamping and only ever had one or two that could manage charlie,maybe deerhound/grey x saluki/grey should make a good strong game allrounder with lungs to spare out of good breeding.atvb -

i use a bit of a small ratchet strap.i think they call it webbing or a lead with the end cut off or a bit of road,usually whatevers closest to lamp n battry on way out the door,cant go wrong

im going to go with syndicate member,they walk around checking feeders with no feed to top them up because it makes them feel like a keeper,iv come across them before,they drive up in shogun pinin and walk around the land like they own the place just because they have payed into the syndicate and the fat lab lets people know he is a shooting man.

one of mine retrives bunnys live to hand,other things didnt get the samee treatment (pre ban),my mate has got a bitch same,they know the difference.then again some dogs just shake bunnys to bits and others will never have what it takes for charlie.they are all different,nice to have both thow

my preferencce would be saluki g/h x bull g/h,not too much bull but speed stamina and gameness,just because some make the grade others woant,collie x g/h, deerhoundxg/h they all have different qualities and some will make the grade and others woant,its all down to preference,there is lads on this site that wouldnt be seen dead with a bullx and theres lads that swear by them (and lasses) i personally would own any cross aslong as it was doing what i wanted but if you are getting a pup now is the time so its redy this time next year for a few runs,leave it much later and it will be season after.

couldnt agree more....since i started her beatin this season my bitch has come on leaps and bounds and will go into any cover and work it through.sometimes needs pulling back a bit and sending back into the cover but getting there.hope this helps.get somewere that holds plenty of game.atb
