  1. What would you lads say an average height would be for a first cross? Fence Hopper is your dog a first cross? He looks good.
  2. I saw a young pups ears glued down with copydex a few years ago (advised by the breeder). I don't know what the out come was. Are you planning to show your dog?
  3. Plenty of reasons listed above for staying single. I think the above one is pathetic. Domestic abuse and battering animals are hardly manly activities to encourage.
  4. Lovely photos. It looks like a good zoo with healthy animals. So a lot of them were behind glass instead of wire or bars?
  5. Really stuffed? Have you thought about what pose you would have her in? I suppose then you could still take her everywhere with you......sitting in the front seat of the car, a trip to the beach, ferreting, or maybe to oversee a ratting trip? Or would she be best on the fire mantle or a coffee table?

Well done Donk and good luck with the maths.
  7. Yes, some people take these shows very, very seriously indeed! What would happen if someone turned up with the best known, greatest quarry slayer in the kingdom and everyone in and around the ring, including the judge, knew it but the dog was an extremely ugly specimen of a dog but a fantastic worker all the same? Would the one with the best phyisque and POTENTIAL working ability win? I don't show dogs, by the way. Just wondering?
  8. Well I bought a Rotti....and it caught a chocolate biscuit!!! I was going to post pictures but then it ate my camera
  9. What would he have got in Pakiland? Let's face it - he probably would get a pat on the back and then the innocent woman would have been sentenced to death for having loose morals.
  10. Coco - handy looking dogs, are they related to each other? What sort of height are they?
  11. Were you shopping in their store at the time or just using their car park?
  12. If there is no improvement after that time with rest, I would likely take it for a further assessment, perhaps to another vet. Good luck with it.
  13. I've used the lamb & rice wheatfree one before - dogs did well on it and it was good value.
  14. Try making his walks interesting and fun or a while. When he is walking well, every few minutes play tug with a toy/fuss him with a pat/tell him he is a good boy or give him a wee piece of food. Don't wait until he is refusing to walk to do these things - keep it upbeat and he should start looking forward to his walks .
  15. "Mum couldn't drive, there was only one car per family, we had to walk to school" QUOTE ANNEMARIE I remember when we had no car and walking to school in the snow/rain in a duffle coat with plastic bags in my shoes, then home again at the end of lessons and thinking nothing of it. No wonder there are so many lazy/fat/spoiled kids nowadays.............oh no, am I starting to sound old??????
  16. What sort of breeding is in the lurcher? What size is the lurcher?
  17. What about the excitement/jealousy of going into a house that had a coloured TV?
  18. butter and brown sauce sandwiches..... kites made from a plastic bread bag and a 5 ft long piece of string........keep running to make it fly! collecting wasps, bees and ladybirds with a few pieces of grass and flowers in a jam jar with holes puched in the top to let the air in......and setting free your 'pet for the day' when your ma called you in for the night........ those were the days!
  19. W forgot about the ice on the bedroom window LOL ,no duvets either and so many blankets and eider downs you couldnt move with the weight of them Duvets with pockets - coats spread over the top of the bedcovers for extra heat!
  20. Brilliant tale! I wonder what that raggle taggle pack of dogs ate in those days, eh?
  21. I saw starlings and sparrows back in my garden today for the first time in weeks (since the snow arrived really). They were going mad for blocks of fat. The blue tits were still out in force, I never noticed them in previous years but they have been here a lot this winter in groups. They are all enjoying their nuts.
  22. Just had a look at their very informative website - it looks like a good place for a visit.
  23. Thanks folks for the info. I know several people with pedigree collies affected (some quite badly) with the condition. Interesting that there are collie crosses with it then.
