  1. Should be a good day out this.
  2. She looks the spit of a dog my mate was walking for a fella in the village, although he told me it was a 3/4 grey 1/4 deerhound. If it's the same one, it's a bloody belter (I'd probably have had a go at persuading the missus if I'd known she was up for grabs )
  3. 21 again, eh FT? Have a good one mate
  4. Cracking pic. If it wasn't for the fact that I'd entered myself, you'd get my vote. Good luck mate. Kev
  5. Thanks a lot folks, if I win I'll give you all a mention on the telly. :signthankspin:
  6. Thanks guys (can't pay, but I got a set of clippers I could give ya? lol) Kev
  7. Right, here's the story. I recently entered a Europe-wide photography competition being run by Canon and they've just opened the voting (winner is decided by viewers votes). So, as the heading says, this is blatant, unashamed, complete and utter, down on my knees begging to ask you all to vote for my picture (and maybe even pass the address on to your friends, pleeeeease?) The winner gets to be the subject of a documentary to be shown on TV later this summer, so it would be a HUGE boost for my photogaphy and would be reallly appreciated. All you need to do (if you care...?) is click on the l
  8. So sad, another 'great' gone. Like Mr Darcy, I used to love his articles in the Shooting News when I was younger. RIP Fred
  9. My daughter Gina has always had cameras around her (usually being pointed at her by me, lol). She got a toy one at xmas and had a ball with it copying dad. Recently she's taken to playing around with an old Kiev rangefinder and pretending to take pics. A few days ago, she came up to me as I was taking her pics with my Canon G9 compact and clearly wanted to have a closer look. She played about with it for a while and I showed her the screen, shutter release etc. suddenly she took a photo as she pointed the camera at dad! So, I put the strap round her neck and watched her snap a few more - all
  10. That's a handy looking bitch there. Hope she does well for you.
  11. I was thinking the same thing wee man.
  12. RIP Lady. Please pass on our deepest sympathies to Pat and his family, Ditch will you?
  13. Bu66er me?! Sounds like a serial killers checklist! lol
  14. This bitch is out of Dave's stuff. Her Grandsire is his coursing deerhound Odin and he covered an Irish coursing greyhound Cavan Lady. Her mother was covered by a greyhound, so she's 3/4 greyhound 1/4 deerhound. Like most of her cross, she was a bit slow to start off, but once she did there was no looking back. Not quite got the dexterity for loads of rabbits although she lifts a few but spot on for everything else. Can't really fault her - for what I want her for - so I've spoken to Dave and booked a pup of the same cross for next year. Deer pix were taken pre-ban.
  15. Really sorry to hear that DM, our thoughts are with you mate.
  16. What date is it? We'll be there anyway.
  17. I s'pose that's part of the beauty of lurchers - there's one out there to suit us all and what we want them for. It'd be a boring old world if we all liked exactly the same thing, eh? For what it's worth, I know that Frost's dogs can be counted on to do what HE requires of them - if they didn't, they wouldn't be around for long. Similarly, I have a mate who swears by bull x's and they're ideal FOR HIM and what HE does. Each to their own.
  18. Wasn't Brian Plummer a schoolteacher at one point? Not entirely sure what I'm trying to say, just thought I'd throw it into the mix
  19. Thanks for the PM's guys, she's got a home now. Spud's coming to collect her this week and I'm sure she'll have a great home down there in 'sunny' England. Kev
  20. A few weeks ago I put up a post for a mate with a litter of bull x's. Well, the guy's had to go away for a bit and left the remaining 3 pups in the care of a neighbour and the RSPCA have turned up and apparently the plum hasn't been feeding the pups properly or cleaning the run! (pr1ck!) So, the situation is this: I've managed to find homes for two of them but still have one to re-home. I've spoken to the guy who bred them (who's just as p1ssed as me about the treatment of the pups) and he's just happy if the pups go to good working homes. As I say, there's one bitch left for me to re-home:
  21. 3/4 greyhound, 1/4 deerhound photos taken pre-ban
  22. Just wondered, if there are, what kinda dogs d'ya think they'd keep? Bull x's to detract from anyone thinking they wuz a puufter? Oh, and one things for sure - I sure as sh1t wouldn't be the one bending over to check the burrows!!!!!
