    I remember gamekeeping and sat having dinner listening to the guns discussing their cleaning staff.... I realised they paid their cleaners more than I got paid keepering 7 days a week. I then went into hunt kennels, 13 days a fortnight, really grafting, skinning knackers and massive stress on hunting days. I'd see amateur whips and helpers out, both in kennels and on hunting days be treated like heroes, all the glory and no stress. So I went farming.     Nigels big challenge is living up to the job of being a constituency MP.... those people who voted him in cannot be left feeling let down. Mrs goggins has got to be able to access his surgery and speak to him about her noisey neighbours and old Brian at the flower shop has got to be listened to when he complains about the pavements.

    I agree. As much as I hate the thought of labour and the treacherous scum the party contains, I really don't think labour could be much worse the the last sunak government. They have broken all records for letting foreigners in for a start. With regards to hunting, if we had some worthwhile fieldsports organisations I think we would stand a chance of working with any government, especially flip flop starmer who knows he doesn't need extra battles. Unfortunately we have to face facts, with regards to immigration and hunting.....we have been more let down by those we trusted to help u

    Reform have 4 seats. Not much of a spring board position. Looking forward to seeing Nigel in action, but I genuinely thought they would do better.

    Depends what you want it to do for you? Make a passive income or just keep it safe and track inflation? I'd buy gold sovereigns slowly over a few years (big purchases are recorded). Then sell em slowly away as you retire. Keep governments noses and hands away from your money....plus it will be the only real money if society really does go tits up.

    We didn't have a candidate locally so I voted English democrats. But I have joined reform and made an extra donation. Here's hoping

    I emailed the local green candidate about their rural policies and got a cut and paste reply including their promises to ban hunting. I replied explaining about hunting and inviting him to visit the local kennels. I got an email back saying if he's elected he will be happy to visit and perhaps they can come up with a compromise on hunting instead

    We used to walk along the lines with a sledge hammer knocking holes in em. Then when rabbits started using them they were easy to catch

    I can't agree with that....from attacking shops and signs to throwing things at candidates, to setting up reform with hidden cameras and under cover reporters.. it's always the left of politics that resort to these tactics
